  Masstemps Ltd are recruiting for a Steel operative on behalf of one of our busy client in the Wolverhampton area that manufacture steel framing.Job Duties: Previous experience in a factory, steel, or engineering environment preferred.General LabouringWorking off the back of the machinesComfortable handling steel and working in a busy workshop.Experience with banding steel and goods in/out is beneficial.Any overhead crane experience is an advantage but not essential.Reliable, punctual, and able to work on your feet.Willing to help where needed.   Masstemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Brake Press operative to join a busy and expanding engineering company based in the heart of Kidderminster. The role:  Machine Operation & Setup: Set up, program, and operate CNC press brake machines to produce metal components.Drawing Interpretation: Read, interpret, and follow complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specification sheets.Quality Inspection: Measure finished workpieces using gauges and tools (e.g., calipers, protractors) to verify dimensions against specs.Tooling Selection: Select appropriate tooling for different material types, thicknesses, and bend angles.Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the machinery to ensure safe operation.Safety Compliance: Comply with all health and safety regulations, including wearing protective equipment (PPE) Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience: Previous experience operating CNC press brakes, with knowledge of machine brands like Amada, Trumpf, or Ermak.Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques and metal properties.Mathematics: Strong math skills for calculating bend allowances and angles.Technical Skills: Ability to read drawings and use precise measuring instruments.Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues with setups or material discrepancies.   Masstemps are currently recruiting for a full-time permanent stores operative to join a busy and expanding manufacturing company based in the heart of Pershore.Key responsibilities: Operate and be responsible for stores area on an orderly, accessible, and safe basis.Work with procurement team to ensure inventories of generic parts and materials are adequate at all timesResponsible for the cost control of stocks and leading and participating in initiatives to eliminate waste and financial over-provision of stockParticipate in the establishment of and ensuring adherence and able to demonstrate sound protocols / inventory management processes for accurate perpetual stock records including process for regular test counts and follow up of discrepancies to allow correction of systems or proper application of process where requiredAssisting management to identify slow moving and stocks at risk of obsolescenceWorking with quality control team to ensure materials inwards are checked prior to booking in and adequate quarantine procedures are applied for failed goods / making appropriate arrangements for returnsCovering the area to book in parts as required, Kitting and Works OrdersMaintain adequate security procedures for valuable and at-risk stocksTo supervise waste disposal process on site, including maintaining all documentation required for environmentally sound disposal 10. Making sure storage of any dangerous substances / materials is compliant with appropriate supplier guidance, or guidance offered by the company's health and safety staff / senior management11. Ensure all stores staff are suitably trained and compliant with health and safety guidance within the factory12. Ensure the stores team comply with all cyber security protocols, Defence Sector customer security requirements and customer / supplier non-disclosure / confidentiality requirements13. Ensure booking in and issues process is compliant with business traceability requirements14. Management and development of the stores team including recruitment, disciplinary and training15. Offering stores team leadership with clear standard setting and compliance with best practice across the stores team16.
