    Manufacturing Engineer | High Wycombe | 9-Month contract | £28 PAYE or £38 Umbrella p/h: Due to a combination of demand and project work, our client is looking to recruit a temporary Manufacturing Engineer to assist with ongoing manufacturing projects and BAU continuous improvement and NPI activity. The Manufacturing Engineer will review and measure current manufacturing processes, identify waste opportunities for improvement and agree improvement plans and targets with Manufacturing Team Leaders. You will promote a Continuous Improvement culture through training and coaching, acting as a CI champion delivering shop floor Lean/ six sigma programs and initiatives. About You The Manufacturing Engineer will ideally have the following skills and attributes: A degree/HND in Manufacturing and/or Electronics engineering or relevant equivalent experience. Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques with a proven track record of delivering positive cost, quality and performance results Demonstrated ability to utilise structured problem solving methodologies. Working knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality Management System. Knowledge of Project Management techniques and experience leading cross functional project teams. Working knowledge of design processes (DFx), new product introduction and product lifecycle management. Computer literate with experience of using ERP/MRP systems such as production routings and BOM Structures. This 9-month contract falls inside of IR35 and will be paid with PAYE or through an Umbrella. The role: The Assembly Technician will help to extend the manufacturing capability, assembling a range of components into finished goods across many product lines. The Assembly Technician willensure all required standards of quality and timeliness are met, along with meeting daily production requirements and the expectations and requirements of the client base. About you: This Assembly Technician position will require someone with who is currently in a similar role, ideally within a mechanical based product range. As a small manufacturing company, the staff who work for this business are proactive, enjoy working with others, accepting of challenging targets and are comfortable adapting to new tasks. The Production Engineer will need to be team orientated but still happy to work individually. The successful candidate will have the following experience: Build up components and sub-assemblies into finished products Carry out basic testing and quality checks Carry out cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and machinery Report equipment faults Ensure components products are to the correct tolerances and meet customer and internal standards and specifications Contribute to continuous improvement activities. Qualifications and skills: Good standard of written and spoken English Previous manufacturing experience working with electronic and mechanical assemblies Manual assembly including bonding and mechanical fastening Experience of hydraulic products is desirable Soldering and basic electronic assembly Use of material handling equipment such as cranes, hoists and other lifting equipment Experience working with pressurised systems or hydrotest equipment would be advantageous Experience of working to production targets Understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) process.
