    A leading manufacture in Thame, Oxfordshire is looking for an experienced Production Operative to join a growing established team due to company growth on a permanent basis. Due to the location and hours you must drive or live in Thame.

    The hours are 2.30pm - 11.00pm, Monday to Thursday and only 5 hours on a Friday, 11am - 4pm and salary of 28,083.

    You need to have previous experience in production, assembling products, wiring & testing, machinery and moving and lifting boxes. You also need to have a strong work history and looking for a new challenge, stability in a permanent role and company. You need to be able to multitask, work to drawings once more experienced and have the ability to problem solve and process problems and identify root cause and suggest solutions.

    • Working in any area of component manufacturing, product assembly, wiring and test as required to meet delivery requirements.
    • Carryout component manufacturing, product assembly to meet requirements documented in build instructions, drawings, BOM's or other related documents.
    • Ensure all activities satisfy quality standards or other applicable standards.
    • Set up component manufacturing equipment (including EHRT, Plating line, power presses), product production areas, to ensure it is run efficiently and effectively to meet requirements.
    • Maintain a safe, orderly and clean work area and ensure safe working practices are carried out at all times.
    • Ensure that all components and products are stored tidily and correctly identified.
    • Accurately maintain production records, product records and other records.
    • Liaise with Team Leaders and ensure stock levels are kept up to date.
    • Ensure equipment is running efficiently/effectively with maximum use of material, resource and time.
    • Maintain machinery and equipment as required by TPM programs.
    • Alert the Production Manager or other appropriate staff of any plant or equipment maintenance issues.
    • Take an active part in all team working and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Offer suggestions to the Team Leader/Line Manager that will improve the efficiency and safety of production areas and equipment.
    • Raise awareness of manufacturing problems with the Production Manager and work with others to find and effectively implement solutions.

    The company offers in return a salary of 28,083k plus excellent benefits, 25 days holiday, healthcare, pension, life assurance, parking. 37 hours per week.

    This is a full time, temporary role until end of Sept 2025, working 37.5 hours per week, paying up to 29719 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

    Background
    As part of an ongoing initiative within the Port Sunlight R&D laboratories to improve efficiencies a new Operational Excellence Team has been created. The role of this team is to support the day-to-day activities of scientists working in our labs and pilot plants and to ensure a safe, efficient and well-maintained facility. The team will focus on the implementation of new and optimised processes with a view to driving continual improvement.

    Job Purpose
    The Laboratory Operational Coordinator role provides a range of support services to the Port Sunlight R&D scientific and engineering community. As an ideal candidate, you'll have a sharp awareness of laboratory operational requirements to ensure maximum productivity and be skilled in laboratory processes, e.g. formulation, characterisation and performance testing etc. Additionally, you'll display a proven ability to follow protocols and processes for efficient operations in a laboratory environment.

    Objectives of this Role

    • Deliver highest professional standards for the coordination of purchased item requirements across the site. Collate and monitor all items that will be required as 'stock items' to be managed via 3rd party service contract suppliers
    • Ensure stock levels of raw materials, consumables and PPE are maintained in core areas
    • Act as First Point of Contact for new Purchase Orders and requests for sample raw materials
    • Deliver front line support to lab/pilot plant users regarding ways of working, set up of facilities and immediate needs/enquiries.
    • Deliver to point of use in laboratories materials picklists and associated ancillaries as appropriate.
    • Coordinate with 3rd party service providers to ensure goods inwards are correctly logged on LIMs
    • Maintain raw material and equipment information dossiers e.g. SDS, COAs, equipment passports etc


    Qualifications

    • Experienced Laboratory/scientific facilities coordinator and/or pilot plant experience.
    • Working knowledge of management software programs, including LIMS, would be advantageous
    • Exceptional organisational, time management and project tracking abilities
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Proficient IT skills e.g. Microsoft tools (Excel, Word), Power BI & Power Apps would be advantageous

    Key Responsibilities:

    • You will be trained to install the appropriate Android and iOS-based technology in patient's properties and deliver the appropriate training to the patient in their home or care home.

    Typical service visit tasks are:

    • Tracking location and status of stock through relevant IT systems

    • Product Development
    • As a technology company the client is constantly developing new and existing products for both Hardware and Software. You will be expected to report patient, clinician and employee feedback ongoing to support such developments.
    • You will be the face-to-face contact of the company with patients / users and so should have the necessary skills to maintain a warm friendly atmosphere.
    • You will be expected to work with a "get the job done" attitude to meet the demands of contractual SLA's. Patient availability may result in different combinations of hours typically between 8am and 8pm.
    • You will be required to undergo a full DBS check before commencement of employment.


    Qualifications and Essentials

    • You will require your own vehicle and a full, clean UK driving licence to complete installations and deliveries. Mileage will be claimed, with mileage expenses subject to our expense policy.
