This is a leadership role that combines hands-on technical expertise with people management responsibilities. You'll lead the design and development of electrical and electronic systems across the full product lifecycle while mentoring engineers, driving technical excellence, and ensuring successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead electrical and electronic design activities from concept through to production and in-service support Provide technical expertise in analogue and digital electronics, PCB design, and electro-mechanical systems Ensure projects are delivered to agreed cost, quality, and schedule targets Support manufacturing, installation, testing, and product support activities Mentor and develop engineers through technical reviews, coaching, and knowledge sharing Contribute to engineering standards, technical proposals, bids, and project estimates Work closely with customers, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams Ensure compliance with verification and validation processes, industry standards, and customer requirements Undertake line management responsibilities, including resource planning, performance management, and recruitment support Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support the implementation of new engineering processes Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and technical excellence About the Organisation Our client is a well-established engineering business specialising in the development of advanced technology solutions for complex and demanding environments. This includes managing EC I design activities from concept through manufacture, testing, and handover, ensuring technical compliance, quality, and efficient delivery. The position works closely with project and technical leadership, multi-disciplinary teams, and external partners to deliver integrated engineering solutions. This would suit candidates looking to take the step into a more senior role, or Principal position. /p p Key Responsibilities /p ul li Lead and deliver EC I engineering activities across allocated projects in alignment with project and technical leadership. /li li Support Project Managers to ensure EC I designs meet project, technical, and regulatory requirements. /li li Ensure EC I project scope is delivered efficiently, effectively, and to the required quality standards. /li li Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams to develop integrated electrical and control solutions that are fit for purpose. /li li Produce EC I designs and associated technical documentation from concept through to validation and handover. /li li Manage and review EC I design outputs from sub-contractors to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications. /li li Conduct peer reviews of EC I deliverables produced internally or externally. /li li Provide technical input and support to commercial and estimating activities. /li li Witness factory acceptance tests (FAT) and support project sign-off activities. /li li Liaise with clients, suppliers, and third parties as required. /li /ul p Reporting Interfaces /p ul li Reports directly to the Technical Manager. /li li Works closely with Engineering Managers, Principal Engineers, Design Engineers, and Project Managers. /li li Interfaces with support functions including Finance, HR, and Health Safety. /li li Engages with external clients, suppliers, and contractors as part of project delivery. /li /ul p Qualifications Experience /p ul li HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline (essential). /li li Engineering degree (BEng / MSc) (desirable). /li li Strong knowledge of engineering delivery processes and change control. /li li Experience in EC I engineering design from concept to detail. /li li Ability to perform EC I engineering calculations. /li li Experience managing or participating in design reviews. /li li Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks or similar). /li li Knowledge of technical document control, configuration, and issue management. /li li Experience producing technical reports for internal and external stakeholders. /li li Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations. xjlbheb /li li Commitment to continuous improvement and learning from experience. /li /ul Read Less
