Role Overview This is an exciting opportunity for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join a growing team in Glasgow. You’ll lead mechanical engineering design across a range of building sectors, working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver solutions that are innovative, robust, and aligned with client aspirations. In this role, you will: Lead and deliver mechanical design across medium and large-scale projects. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project partners. Take ownership of project briefs, resource planning, quality control, and commercial performance. Guide and mentor engineers within the team, supporting their technical and professional development. Coordinate with internal specialists to ensure fully integrated design solutions. Represent the team in meetings, workshops, and client presentations. Support bids, proposals, and business development activities. Requirements Strong experience as a Mechanical Engineer within building services. A proven track record of delivering high‑quality mechanical design on complex, multidisciplinary projects. Solid knowledge of HVAC systems, low‑carbon technologies, and industry best practice. Competence with industry-standard software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Hevacomp, IESVE, etc. Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with clients and stakeholders. Understanding of relevant British Standards and building regulations. Previous experience within consultancy, with an appreciation of complementary specialisms (e.g., acoustics, fire, digital modelling). A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to delivering great engineering.
