    Lusona Consultancy are partnering with a well-established client based in Lanarkshire, for the position of ‘Financial Controller’. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven finance professional to step into a hands-on role. You’ll join a strong and supportive management team, playing a pivotal role in guiding business performance. This is also a great next step for a newly qualified accountant from industry, or an ambitious accountant looking to make their first move from accountancy practice.
    You’ll take ownership of the company’s financial health, supporting senior management with the insight and analysis they need to make key decisions. Key responsibilities include: Preparing and analysing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports alongside the wider finance team. Managing cash flow forecasting, budgets, and stock analysis. Overseeing foreign currency transactions and reporting. Conducting variance analysis and ad-hoc financial insights. Partnering with non-finance teams to drive improvements across the business. Developing and optimising finance systems and reporting tools (Sage, Power BI, Excel, ERP) Supporting R&D tax claims, investment analysis, and business case evaluations Driving process automation and efficiencies across finance Supporting internal risk management and providing financial guidance
    About You: Preferably a qualified accountant (ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA) or suitably qualified by experience. Both industry and accountancy practice background will be considered. Strong commercial awareness, with experience in cash flow, budgets, forecasting, and stock analysis Exposure to foreign currency transactions desirable Hands-on, proactive, and confident with the ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders Excellent Excel and system skills (preferably ERP, Sage, Power BI)
