    • Drive the development of next-generation CHO host platforms for complex therapeutic protein production.
    • Engineer mammalian cell lines using advanced techniques including CRISPR-based editing, targeted and random integration.
    • Design and generate mammalian expression vectors using state-of-the-art molecular biology and assembly technologies.
    • Oversee phenotypic and molecular characterisation of engineered cell lines (e.g. NGS, ddPCR, qPCR, flow cytometry, advanced cell culture).
    • Mentor and support junior scientists, fostering technical excellence and continuous development.

    What you will doDesign, plan, and execute laboratory experiments across multiple development projects, ensuring timely delivery with high safety, quality, and efficiency.Analyse and interpret experimental data to generate meaningful process insights and development strategies.Prepare high-quality technical reports and documentation for internal and customer review.Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and actively contribute to delivering an excellent customer experience.Present experimental progress and technical findings to internal teams and external customers.Develop subject-matter expertise in cell culture processes, equipment, or related technologies.Mentor and train junior scientists while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving activities within the laboratory.What we are looking forA BSc (or higher) in a relevant scientific or technical discipline such as biotechnology, biochemistry, or cell biology.Advanced laboratory experience within biopharmaceutical process development or cell culture environments preferably mammalianExperience designing experiments, analysing scientific data, and communicating results clearly in reports and presentations.Strong problem-solving skills with a structured and logical approach to experimental challenges.Ability to plan and manage work across multiple projects while delivering results on time.Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to engage with internal teams and customers.Experience mentoring or training junior laboratory staff is an advantage.About LonzaAt Lonza, our people are our greatest strength.
