    Skills, qualifications and experience

We expect the successful applicant to have the following technical skills:Deep expertise in Organisational Design. This should include the full range of OD, including role definition, objective and KPI definition, ways of working, hierarchical design, cost modelling and sizing, grade levelling, and people transition planning. An appreciation of organisational design in an agile context is desirable. Experience of working with Org Vue would also be beneficial. A strong appreciation of different approaches to manage behavioural change. Experience of the core techniques of leadership alignment, case for change, stakeholder identification and management, sequencing for the change programme, communication and engagement, impact assessment, and planning people transition. In the area of technology implementation, we would expect experience of user adoption approaches including training and awareness. The strongest candidates will have capability across both Change and OD, but we are also interested in candidates who are deep specialists in OD. We are looking for candidates who understand the financial services environment and have undertaken consulting projects in one or more of the sub-sectors mentioned above. As this role is a Senior Manager role, and the consultant would be expected to lead and manage other consultants, we expect that candidates will have experience in consulting, ideally with a recognised professional services firm, or global consultancy. In-house consulting experience is also valued. Candidates will need to have the personal skills to influence, communicate with and work with senior clients, often at C-Suite or just below. They will need to have strong writing skills, be good at PowerPoint, confident with excel, and comfortable working face to face and through Teams. We value a collaborative mindset. Job description

    Role Purpose

Capital projects consistently underperform in terms of budget, schedule, and value. Stakeholders often lack confidence over the performance of their projects and programmes, and the transition to business-as-usual operation often fails to take advantage of the data and insight generated during the project implementation phase. Data can enable and drive improvement as it has in many facets of our lives, with automation, digitalisation and AI now becoming the norm.

It has quickly become a cheap commodity, easily created, and accessed. However, capturing good quality, meaningful data to drive a completive edge, enable intelligence-led decision-making, helping to track and improve performance is today's challenge for many organisations. How do stakeholders obtain insights when served with an overwhelming volume of disorganised, poorly considered, badly constructed data?

Our Major Projects Advisory (MPA) team specialises in providing clarity to Boards, Executives and SRO's and senior leaders across major public and private sector organisations, on the delivery of their complex projects and programmes. We work on some of the UK's most strategically important programmes, and across all sectors including Utilities, Power, Energy, Transport, Natural Resources, Oil & Gas, Defence, Health and Education.

MPA comprises a multidisciplinary, diverse, outcome-focused team of 100+ industry experts who are driven by purposeful work to achieve positive change for our local communities and make a lasting global difference. We enable greater transparency, efficiency, predictability and confidence, whilst helping navigate uncertainty.

We are a market leader in partnering with clients to maximise value through significant capital investments and complex transformations, working across projects, programmes and portfolios. As trusted advisors, we support our clients across a broad range of areas in project and programme management, portfolio management, commercial and procurement, construction, ESG and technology.

We are strengthening our digital, data and insights capability to grow our client service offering.

This role is for an ambitious, innovative, and professional Associate Director, who can work alongside our existing team to enhance the way we deliver services to our clients using data, intelligent insights from analytics and visualisation to improve project delivery confidence.

Within your career you will have attained an exquisite balance of understanding data and data system architecture with a flexible, creative approach in its application to create value for your clients. You will be able to breakdown and translate complex problems into smaller components that are easily described throughout the client's organisation. This will require a passionate and highly motivated individual who enjoys problem solving and learning in general.

You will join the MPA business at an exciting period of significant growth and will be a significant contributor to how it is shaped. You will interface with our leadership team, client organisations and other KPMG teams to develop our offerings and value propositions.

Why Join KPMG as a Manager - People in M&A (Deal Execution, HR Due Diligence and Value Creation focus)?

We are a diverse team of over 200 practitioners, working collaboratively with and orchestrating KPMG's broad set of capabilities within our Advisory business, and focused on continually enhancing value for clients across the deal and economic cycle.

The People in M&A Centre of Excellence supports clients in understanding and navigating the people implications of M&A. Our work spans the full employee lifecycle - from early strategy through to execution - ensuring that people considerations are embedded in every stage of the deal. This includes assessing people-related risks and costs through HR due diligence and vendor due diligence, identifying workforce synergies and value creation opportunities, as well as advising on leadership, talent, culture and organisational design. We also support clients through integration and separation planning, employee experience design, change and communications, and complex people transitions.

Supporting the mentoring, coaching and development of junior project team members.Cross-Team Collaboration - Coordinating input from reward, legal and other SME teams, and incorporating their insights into our findings and recommendations.
What will you need to do it?
