    We are recruiting Managers to join our Sale and Purchase Agreement team to support the growth of our business.

    What will you be doing?
    Team work: leading work streams on medium size engagements and being an instrumental team member on larger engagement of greater complexity in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments. Providing price structuring advice and agreement vetting service on the Sale and Purchase Agreement, in particular completion accounts or locked box provisions, and any additional deferred consideration provisions. Providing vendor assist services, such as preparing Locked Box papers. Providing post-completion advice on the preparation or review of completion accounts and earn-out accounts, providing tactical advice on commercial negotiation and any disputes which may arise Business development: building, commercialising and sustaining relationships with client management team members for the benefit of the Firm Practice development: taking responsibility for several processes and initiatives that are key to scaling the business Risk management: identifying and managing risks and ensuring the Firm's frameworks are implemented appropriately and effectively People development: identifying team member development needs and accelerating development by establishing the appropriate plans and frameworks with particular emphasis on coaching and skills transfer Personal development: participating in the career and skills development infrastructure provided by the Firm and acting as a role model with colleagues and clients by living the values of the Firm
    What will you need to do it?

    The Role
    We are looking for a Assistant Manager with a Project Finance background to support the fast-growing Power & Utilities Projects team.

    The team specialises in advising clients on the delivery of large water and energy infrastructure projects including new nuclear plants, onshore and offshore electricity networks, interconnectors, reservoirs and other major assets. The Projects business is focussed on designing new markets and advising on in-house and competitive delivery models for major infrastructure projects and programmes. We advise on all aspects of an asset's delivery, including commercial arrangements, financing structures, regulatory strategy and engagement, and procurement processes - both for individual assets and new delivery programmes.

    Our clients, include companies, developers, bidders and regulators. Some of our projects include Hydrogen Transport Business Model, Hinkley Point C, potential investor in Sizewell C, Thames Tideway Tunnel (TTT), multiple Direct Procurement for Customers (DPC) and Special Infrastructure Projects Regime (SIPR) projects, Offshore Transmission Owners (OFTO), Cap and Floor Interconnectors, Competitively Appointed Transmission Owners (CATOs), new nuclear projects (NNPs) and Small Modular Reactors (SMRs).     Role and Responsibilities:

    Manage and work with engagement teams to develop claim methodologies and prepare R&D tax relief claims for submission to HMRC. Taking responsibility and accountability for your own, and your team's work.
    Lead meetings with the senior IT technical and financial client stakeholders; and provide expert advice in relation to innovation advisory services (R&D, Patent Box, Grant Applications).
    Manage the process for preparing both the technical and financial elements of our client deliverables.     Leading projects; and solving problems by advising our clients in the application of complex legislation to real life situations.
    Leading people including coaching and developing junior staff.
    Liaise with HMRC specialists to facilitate the agreement of R&D claims.

    Build an internal network within the wider tax practice of the firm.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    Honours/ Post Graduate Degree in an Information Technology related discipline.
    Has a detailed working knowledge of the UK R&D tax legislation, and its application to Information Technology activities in addition to significant industry experience in Information Technology and ability to rapidly grasp new technical concepts.
    Must be able to understand key tax / costing concepts relevant to R&D claim preparation, as well as the capability to work within cross-disciplinary teams.
    Must have excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking to assist our clients in applying complex legislation to real life situations.
    Excellent communication skills are a must. For example, you must be able to lead technical discussions and explain complex legislative concepts to information technologists in industry who have no prior experience of the tax definition of R&D.
    Must be capable of producing high quality, professional documentation and reports for C-suite stakeholders within our clients.

    Within IRI, staff work with clients to help them claim tax incentives for innovation. The IRI team works with companies of all sizes from almost every sector of the economy to identify their qualifying R&D activity, quantify it and help them obtain their R&D incentives, as well as working with clients to best leverage the Patent Box regime. The team consists of staff with a wide variety of skill sets all working together, from technical specialist including scientists, engineers, and IT experts to fully qualified accountants and tax advisers.
