The Role: As a Transport Planner you will be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day-to-day challenges in providing an effective transport plan. Confer with customers or supervising personnel in order to address questions, problems, and requests for service or equipment Record and maintain files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information Promptly answering telephone in a professional manner and dealing with field and customer enquiries Liaise with Warehousing and Traffic teams to understand any unplanned issues and offer resolutions in planning to the management of loads Maximise Load Fill for all outbound deliveries Maximise Synergies between the Warehouse and Knowles groups Determine types or amounts of loads and vehicles required to build work orders RE-booking of failures Consolidate other customers work with movements external to Wimblington What We Offer / Benefits: Free uniform PPE provided. Key aspects of the role include providing strong planning of the operational logistics arm of the business, effectively communicating with the customer service team to meet the demands of the customer and providing the best customer service possible to internal and external stakeholders. You will also be responsible for the daily re-active and pro-active maintenance of the Fleet taking direction from the Fleet Manager. Key Responsibilities: Fleet Maintenance: Repair and maintain different types of vehicles, such as lorries, and vans. Perform restorative and preventative work all aspect of the vehicles, test new vehicles to find faults and carry out routine servicing.
