    The Role
    Servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of groundscare and agricultural equipment—including compact tractors, UTVs, ATVs, and grass care machineryDiagnosing faults and carrying out repairs to manufacturer standardsKeeping accurate records and ensuring all work meets safety and compliance standardsSupporting customers with machinery installations and demonstrationsWorking closely with service and workshop managers to meet deadlinesTravelling to customer sites in the surrounding area for field-based service work (full driving licence required)
    What I'm Looking For
    Qualified to Level 3 in Land-Based Engineering (or equivalent in HGV, Plant, or Construction)Experienced with groundscare and/or agricultural equipmentA strong communicator, able to work with both customers and colleagues effectivelyWilling to undertake ongoing training, including specialist manufacturer trainingReliable under pressure and capable of working to deadlines in variable conditionsFlexible to work overtime during seasonal peaks

The successful HGV Technician will report to the Transport Manager and will be responsible for maintaining VLT’s HGV’s and enhancing the performance of their modern vehicle fleet. As an integral part of their operation, you will also be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various vehicles to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.

    About your new HGV Technician role

    • You will maintain our mixed fleet of rigid and articulated vehicles and trailers to the highest standard and in line with DVSA requirements
    • Vehicle and Trailer inspections
    • MOT preparation to DVSA standards
    • Brake testing at every inspection
    • Fault finding and repairs
    • Use of diagnostic equipment

    The successful HGV Technician will require

    • Qualification in City and Guilds HGV Part 1, 2 & 3 or NVQ level 3 equivalent
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an HGV Mechanic (post qualification) preferably within a fleet environment
    • Large Goods Vehicle experience is essential
    • Class 1 or Class 2 is Desirable
    • Flexible approach to work
    • Health & Safety awareness
    • Excellent time-keeping skills
