The Role The firm is looking to appoint an Employment Legal Director / Partner to join its heavy-hitting roster based in the North-West. You will join a nationally recognised Employment team known for handling complex, high-value matters across both contentious and non-contentious work. The team advises on the full spectrum of employment issues, including strategic HR advisory work, tribunal and High Court litigation, corporate support, outsourcing and large-scale projects. Working alongside an established group of partners, you will play a key role in driving the team forward, developing client relationships and contributing to the wider national offering. The department already has strong momentum, with a growing pipeline of premium work, creating an excellent platform for an incoming Partner to make an immediate impact. The UK legal function is now looking to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel or Legal Counsel to act as sole counsel in its Battersea office, supported by a senior paralegal. Your role The position covers sales and leasing, property management, planning, development and construction, dispute resolution, corporate compliance and general commercial matters across the UK business, with a particular emphasis on residential development work. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial leases, sale and purchase agreements, construction and consultancy agreements, planning and section 106 agreements, property management agreements, guarantees, collateral warranties and other commercial documents. Conducting due diligence and title investigations, and advising on and managing acquisition and disposal transactions. Advising on disputes, and drafting and reviewing pre‑action correspondence and demand letters, working with external counsel on adjudication, arbitration and litigation matters. Drafting board resolutions and ensuring relevant board and internal approvals are obtained before contracts are executed.
