  • Mobile Hydraulic Hose Engineer

    Are you an experienced hydraulic engineer? Could you replace hoses and hydraulic components? My client is looking for a mobile engineer. You will: Attend client sites and replace hoses and hydraulic components liaise with existing customers and give the best service you can Report job processes through the company mobile app, and update any necessary orders. You must be good at dealing with clients and go above and beyond to ensure the client is happy with the service. The ideal candidate must be a hard-working and reliable person and be able to work unsupervised Ideally you will have previous experience working in the Hose Replacement Industry or as a Forklift/Plant fitter, HGV fitter, or Agricultural Fitter. Candidates with a strong mechanical background would be considered including vehicle technicians, tyre fitters and so forth. All applicants must hold the UK Driving Licence, ideally for a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 3 penalty points. There is a generous bonus scheme so the harder you work, the more you will earn. In this role you will be responsible for providing materials engineering support both to the power generation assets and the wider business, including failure investigations, technical support, power plant component examination and R&D. This role contains ample opportunity for individuals to demonstrate creative problem-solving approaches in a field where numerous engineering subjects come together to deliver effective solutions.
    Your responsibilities Lead and contribute to failure investigations of power plant components including high temperature high pressure vessels and piping, gas and steam turbines, wind turbines, etc. to determine root cause. Support in the development of corrective actions and preventative measures to mitigate future failures. Provision of advice on all aspects of materials, coatings, corrosion and, where appropriate, integrity/defect assessment. R&D including life extension of materials in existing power plants, advanced materials for new and next generation power plant including decarbonisation technologies. Ability to work collaboratively in a team orientated environment. Delivering accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports. Your profile A degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy or Corrosion Science. They should have or be willing to work towards Chartered Engineer status. Opportunity for further study is possible. In-depth knowledge and experience of physical metallurgy of steels, nickel and cobalt alloys and advanced high temperature materials and coatings. Good understanding of the fundamentals of high temperature joining techniques. An understanding of a range of power generation technologies together with an understanding of common damage mechanisms associated with them. Knowledge of corrosion mechanisms and their mitigation on a range of power and process plants. Have significant experience in undertaking component failure investigations. As the role involves interaction across the whole of the business, you mustbe able to effectively communicate complex ideas and solutions to a range of stakeholders. This is a hybrid role based 2-3 days in Notttingham with travel to site where required. There may also be the option for travel to sites in Europe.
