Job DescriptionA highly regarded regional law firm is looking to appoint an experienced Family Solicitor to its established team in Winchester. This is a strong opportunity for someone with 5 PQE+ who wants to continue handling sophisticated family work while gaining greater autonomy, responsibility and scope for long-term progression.

Find out more about the daily tasks, overall responsibilities, and required experience for this opportunity by scrolling down now.
The family practice has an excellent reputation across the South and beyond, with a client base and quality of work that compares well with many larger practices. The team advises on the full range of privately funded family matters, with particular strength in high-value matrimonial finance and complex private children work.
You will join a well-established team led by Partners with significant reputations in the market. The role offers a good balance between working alongside senior lawyers on particularly substantial or sensitive cases and taking the lead on your own matters, with support from more junior colleagues where appropriate.
Your caseload is likely to include divorce and separation, complex financial remedy proceedings, trusts, business and overseas assets, pensions, cohabitation matters, pre- and post-nuptial agreements and private law children cases. Given the nature of the client base, the ability to combine sound technical judgement with excellent client care and a strong grasp of both the detail and wider strategy of a matter will be important.
While primarily based in Winchester, there is also the opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm's other offices. The wider environment is collegiate and well resourced, with good technology and infrastructure and an emphasis on giving experienced lawyers the independence to manage their practice effectively.
The firm is looking for an established family lawyer, likely to be around 5-8 years' PQE, although relevant experience and capability will be more important than a precise level of qualification. You should have a strong grounding in privately funded family work and be comfortable handling financially complex matters and private children cases.
Alongside managing and developing your own caseload, you will have the opportunity to support and develop junior lawyers, work closely with senior members of the team and contribute to the continued growth of the practice. An interest in business development and building relationships within the market would therefore be welcomed.
For someone looking beyond their next immediate move, this is a particularly credible platform. The firm offers genuine scope for autonomy and longer-term career progression without sacrificing the quality or complexity of work, within a stable and established practice.
The position is permanent and can be considered on either a full-time or substantial part-time basis. A competitive salary is offered according to experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package and discretionary performance-related remuneration.
For a confidential discussion about the opportunity and further details on the team, remuneration and progression prospects, please get in touch.
For a confidential discussion about the role and the firm, please get in touch with James Wheelhouse, Associate Director. Please note that where a level of preferred experience or qualification is indicated, this is a guideline only and does not preclude applications from candidates with more or less experience.

Our consultants will review your application and assess your suitability. We endeavour to respond to all applications within 72 hours, however due to the volume of applications we receive we may not be able to respond to every candidate individually and would advise that if you do not hear from us you should assume you are not successful in your application. xrexnqw Jameson Legal acts as an employment business for temporary recruitment and as an employment agency for fixed term contract and permanent recruitment.

Job DescriptionA strong opportunity has arisen for an experienced Corporate lawyer to join a well-established and highly regarded team in Guildford. The firm has built a credible position in the market, combining sophisticated corporate work with a collaborative culture and a clear commitment to developing lawyers over the longer term.

Be one of the first applicants, read the complete overview of the role below, then send your application for consideration.
The Corporate team advises on a broad range of transactions, with particular strength across M&A, venture capital and spin-out work, alongside ongoing company law and strategic corporate advice. The successful lawyer will take a leading role on transactions from start to finish, including drafting and negotiating transaction documents, managing deal processes and working closely with clients, counterparties and other advisers.
At Senior Associate level, this is more than a purely transactional role. There is genuine scope to build a profile within the practice, develop client relationships and play an active part in business development, with good visibility across the wider firm and support from the partnership. You will also have the opportunity to supervise and develop more junior lawyers within the team.
The firm is looking for a solicitor with around 6+ years' PQE and a solid grounding in corporate work gained within private practice. You are likely to be comfortable running transactions with a good degree of autonomy, while still valuing the benefits of working as part of a supportive and experienced team. Previous involvement in business development would be useful, although the emphasis is equally on finding someone with the appetite to develop this side of their practice.
This should particularly suit a Corporate lawyer looking for high-quality work and meaningful progression without necessarily needing to pursue their career in London. The combination of transactional responsibility, partner support and the opportunity to develop a broader practice makes it an attractive proposition for someone thinking carefully about their next step towards partnership.
The firm operates a hybrid working model, with the ability to work remotely for up to 50% of the time.
For a confidential discussion about the role and the firm, please get in touch with James Wheelhouse, Associate Director.
Please note that where a level of preferred experience or qualification is indicated, this is a guideline only and does not preclude applications from candidates with more or less experience.

Job DescriptionWe are working with a growing technology business operating within the construction sector that is looking to bring an experienced Commercial Lawyer into its in-house legal team for a short-term assignment throughout September. Whilst the role is for an initial 1 month duration, there may be scope for extension.

Be one of the first applicants, read the complete overview of the role below, then send your application for consideration.
The company provides augmented reality technology used on complex construction projects, helping those delivering projects on the ground to identify discrepancies between design plans and the physical build at an earlier stage.
This is a full-time interim requirement, providing additional legal bandwidth during a period of change within the legal function. The successful lawyer will take responsibility for much of the team's ongoing commercial workload, allowing the permanent team to dedicate greater time and attention to the introduction of new legal technology. As such, this will be a hands-on role suited to a commercially minded lawyer who is comfortable joining a business at short notice and quickly taking ownership of existing matters.
The workload is expected to include a broad range of commercial agreements, contract negotiations, NDAs, working with playbooks, clause banks and developing templates alongside responding to queries from across the business and dealing with matters requiring legal input or escalation.
Depending on their background, the successful lawyer may contribute directly to the legal tech rollout such as building the workflows, playbooks, integrations and legal knowledge base or providing legal input alongside a Legal Engineer.
The role is based in London. The business would ideally like the interim lawyer to spend some time working onsite with the team, although a hybrid arrangement can be agreed.
Full-time availability throughout September is required.
Suitable candidates are likely to demonstrate:

Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales or another relevant commonwealth jurisdiction
Upwards of 4 years' PQE and strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
Previous experience operating within an in-house legal team
The ability to pick up an existing workload quickly and work with a high degree of autonomy
Confidence advising commercial stakeholders and dealing with day-to-day legal issues and escalations
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload
Experience within a technology, construction, engineering or similarly fast-moving business would be advantageous
Exposure to legal technology, legal operations, AI tools or process improvement would be beneficial
The capacity to commit on a full-time basis throughout September

  • Head of Enfranchisement - Hampshire

Job DescriptionA well-established Hampshire law firm is looking to app... Read More
Job DescriptionA well-established Hampshire law firm is looking to appoint an experienced enfranchisement lawyer to lead and further develop its specialist team.

A high number of candidates may make applications for this position, so make sure to send your CV and application through as soon as possible.
This is a particularly interesting opportunity for someone who wants more than a conventional senior fee-earning role. The enfranchisement practice is already established, busy and profitable, with a strong flow of work and significant institutional instructions, including ongoing work for London local authorities. The opportunity is therefore to take ownership of an existing and successful workstream, while having genuine scope to shape how the team develops from here.
The firm has a strong presence across Hampshire and the wider South Coast and offers the quality of work and infrastructure associated with a substantial regional practice, while retaining a collegiate and accessible culture. Enfranchisement sits naturally alongside its wider residential property and property litigation offering, providing good opportunities for collaboration across the firm.
    The role
You will take responsibility for a team of five combining your own technical work with leadership, supervision and oversight of the wider practice.
The caseload is varied and includes statutory lease extensions, collective enfranchisement, right to manage matters and related leasehold reform work, acting for both landlords and tenants. A significant part of the team's work includes established local authority instructions, so the ability to oversee volume matters efficiently while maintaining technical quality and client service will be important.
Alongside fee earning, you will manage workflow and allocation across the team, supervise and develop junior colleagues and help ensure the practice continues to operate effectively and commercially. There is also scope to influence processes, strengthen existing client relationships and contribute to the continued growth and profile of the enfranchisement offering.
The role works closely with colleagues across residential property, property litigation and private client, particularly where matters cross practice areas.
    About you
The firm is open-minded on precise qualification route and is primarily interested in finding someone with genuine depth of experience in leasehold enfranchisement. You may be a solicitor, legal executive or have an equivalent professional background.
You are likely to have substantial experience of statutory lease extensions and collective enfranchisement, together with a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation and the evolving leasehold reform landscape. You should be comfortable handling technically complex matters independently and providing clear, commercially sensible advice to clients.
Previous experience of supervising junior lawyers, paralegals or case handlers would be valuable. Equally important is an interest in developing people and improving the way a specialist team operates, rather than simply managing your own caseload.
    The opportunity
For an established enfranchisement lawyer, this offers an attractive combination: a substantial existing caseload, a profitable and recognised specialist team, good-quality institutional and private client work, and the backing of a respected regional platform.
Importantly, this is not a role requiring someone to build a practice from scratch. There is already a strong foundation in place, with the successful individual given the opportunity to lead it, develop the people around them and influence its longer-term direction.
