  • Field Service Electrician

    Following significant investment, my client are seeking a Field Service Electrician to work on site, responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance, reactionary services and predominately running the Hydrogen Power Units (HPUs) on sites across the UK. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background followed by mechanical skills and a solid ability to problem solve.
    Responsibilities
    Ability to work safely at all times, ensuring compliance to regulations and Safe Systems of Work Running the Hydrogen Power Units including hydrogen changeovers Maintenance and service of essential electrical and mechanical systems Installation and commissioning of Hydrogen Power Units Installation of basic power distribution components Recording of data (Hydrogen usage, power output) Present a positive and professional image Ability to analyse and solve complex problems Clearly communicate technical issues Wiring of AMF’s and distribution boards
    Desirable Experience
    Required - Relevant technical qualification and training in an electrical discipline. (eg Gold card, City and Guilds) GCSEs. Desirable – CCNSG, CSCS, IOSH Working safely V5.0a, First Aid, Manual Handling, Working at Heights, Fire Awareness, A Levels, 18th edition (also known as BS 7671 or wiring regs), NVFCL Fitok Tubing & Tube Fittings Intro & Safety Installation, Safety Critical Medical. Experience working on high profile sites Basic computer skills required.     Jackson Hogg is exclusively representing a well-known and established manufacturer in the region in their search for multiple Multi Skilled Maintenance Technicians. Due to significant site growth and an uplift in work, there are multiple requirements across the business.
    This is a busy and diverse role with a real focus on hands on input as they look to transition from a reactive to a planned maintenance strategy. This role is very hands on and a wide and varied knowledge of various Maintenance processes is essential including but not limited to:
    PLC Fault Finding 3 Phase Systems Pneumatics Line Feeders Equipment, Plant and Machinery Site Services and Facilities Boilers, Chillers and Coolers
    Candidates will be exposed to a variety of unique and bespoke machines and the ability to think proactively and reactively is essential. Technicians work largely independently across site reporting into a supervisor and ultimately the Engineering Manager.
    The ideal candidate will come from a Chemical or Process industry, but the role is open to any fast moving and high paced environment experience. Candidates must be fully time served with a recognized apprenticeship, ideally Multi Skilled or Electrically biased. A HNC or higher is most desired but not essential.
    This role is working across a large site on all manner of site service facilities work and includes both line work, instrumentation, calibration and FM.
    The salary advertised reflects a base salary banding and shift premiums. Overtime is plentiful and higher earning is very achievable.

    The Role The role will include, but not be limited to the following activities: Supervision of all personnel working in the Company workshop and on Client sites/vessels, including Company employees, Contract & Subcontracted personnel. Maintaining safe working practices and ensuring all employees, contractors and visitors are operating within the company’s Health & Safety policy rules. Final testing of equipment, ordering materials, assisting with onsite surveys and costings for quotes. Producing job specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), on site permits and policing POWRA’s. Maintaining good housekeeping standards, ensuring PPE is maintained and used correctly.     Skills & Experience Experience in Supervisory Roles Previous electrical marine experience is an advantage but not essential.
