This is a key leadership role overseeing the safe delivery of gas distribution projects, including mains replacement, new connections, diversions, reinstatements and associated civil engineering works. The successful Site Manager will manage operational teams, subcontractors and client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget. With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued investment in the UK utilities sector, this role offers excellent job security, career progression and the opportunity to work for one of the industry's leading infrastructure contractors. The Role Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the Site Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple gas infrastructure schemes across Berkshire and Surrey. Key responsibilities include: Managing day-to-day site operations on gas mains replacement and gas distribution projects Planning and coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractors Leading site teams to deliver works safely, efficiently and to programme Managing gas mains replacement, reinforcements, diversions, new service connections and reinstatement works Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards Carrying out regular site inspections, audits and quality assurance checks Managing permits, temporary works and excavation activities Supporting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions Monitoring project progress, productivity and commercial performance Building strong relationships with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders Ensuring all operatives hold the required competencies and certifications Driving a positive safety culture and continuous improvement across the contract About You To be considered, you'll have previous experience working as a Site Manager , Site Supervisor or Construction Manager on gas infrastructure , gas distribution or utility civil engineering projects. The Role Based on-site in Kent , the successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the commercial management of a £20m civil engineering project delivered under the NEC suite of contracts. Working closely with the Commercial Manager and Project Team, your responsibilities will include: Managing all commercial aspects of the project from contract award through to final account. Administering the contract in accordance with NEC procedures. Preparing monthly CVRs, cost reports, forecasts and cash flow projections. Managing project budgets, commercial performance and cost control. Assessing and agreeing applications for payment and subcontractor valuations. Managing compensation events, variations and change control. Procuring and commercially managing subcontract packages. Undertaking measurement and remeasurement where required. Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle. Negotiating and agreeing final accounts with clients and subcontractors. Attending commercial, client and project progress meetings. Requirements To be considered for this Senior Quantity Surveyor position, you should have: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor on civil engineering or infrastructure projects. Experience delivering earthworks, enabling works, drainage, highways or major infrastructure schemes. Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts .
