Cosmetic Surface Repair Technician - Exeter/Tiverton/Cullompton locations - Temp to Perm position from £24,000 to £30,000 depending on experience plus van and bonuses. We are looking to recruit technicians ideally with existing surface finishing skills, after the initial induction you will begin a basic 6-week training program, some of this to be competed at there workshop and the remainder in the field with our experienced technicians. After completion of 6-week basic training you will be expected to attend customers/jobs and carry out quality repairs and refinishing in accordance with our company procedures. All jobs are issues via an APP on the technicians mobile phone This job is open to anyone who has practical hand to eye skills who has experience in the finishing industry with spray application, this position offers variety, security, and a good salary, most of the time you will be working on your own, but usually alongside other trades, and often in the vicinity of home-owners and customers, however you will be part of a growing dynamic team of specialists cosmetic repairers working across the South West of England delivering first class repairs and re-finishings. If successful you will be issued with a contact of employment, company van (business use only), a company Mobile phone, Fuel card, uniform, ppe, tools, materials, business email address, sales, and marketing literature. The work is varied no day the same, the hours of work will vary, some longer, some shorter days depending on demand, they operate Monday - Friday, but during peak demand there will be occasional overtime on a Saturday paid at time and a half. Main Duties - to invisibly repair, refinish or respray damaged hard surfaces in-situ, found in or around a property or building, mostly for the new build sector, but also for private customers, commercial. the repairs all manner of surfaces including; Worktops, Baths, Doors, Windows and more.. they fix substrates including Metal, Wood, Plastic, Stone, Laminate, and much more. they operate across the South-west of England looking after there customers throughout Avon, Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, and some of Dorset. You would be a sole person in a van visiting customers delivering in-situ repairs. technicians need to have the following qualities Ø Sharp tidy appearance Ø honest Ø healthy Ø Clean driving licence (max 3 points) for insurance purposes 25 years or older Ø Safe driver Ø enthusiastic Ø confident Ø proactive and dedicated Ø responsible Ø pleasant Ø helpful Ø Self-managing Ø Organised and Tidy Ø Efficient Ø Dynamic Ø Flexible Ø A good communicator Ø Approachable Ø Not colourblind (required to mix and match paint) Ø Highly dexterous (very good hand to eye skills) Ø Suitable for a fast-moving "just-in-time" industry. Ø Experience with spray work (furniture or vehicle). Ø Able to work Monday to Friday variable start and finish times, and some overtime on Saturdays where required. Ø Comfortable with some long drives - up to 1 . 5 hours to the job and then the same return. Ø Comfortable climbing a ladder and working at height. Ø Able to pass and satisfy DBS formerly CRB. Ø Hold a CSCS card, however they can put you though this if you meet the criteria Ø Will need to attend a face fit mask fitting test. The client has an ongoing telecoms contract working on O2, VF, 3 and EE sites installing new supplies for Telecom equipment to upgrade sites to 5G - there will also be some DC wiring and Testing involved. The successful candidate will be working on one site for a couple of days before moving on to the next one within close proximity. You may be required to stay away from home once every couple of weeks for certain jobs. All travel costs, accommodation and training will be paid for.
