    Various contract sizes available from 16-24 hours per week, working 3-5 days out of 7 and 3 out of 4 weekends. We are open to discussing working patterns including weekend only, and have a specific need for daytime availability particularly 10am-2pm

    We operate 7 days a week to meet the shopping needs of our customers, and your availability will be discussed as part of your interview.

    Please be aware that the IKEA Edinburgh Store is located outside of the city and links by public transport may be infrequent. If you will be using public transport to get to the store we ask you to consider your transport route before you apply.

    A food background isn't essential, but experience in leading a high-volume business, fast paced and organised is a must.
    Ability to handle multiple topics and changing priorities/deadlines and a proven track record of delivering business performance
    Proven ability to maintain effective work and leadership behavior in the face of setbacks or pressure

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

    As a Food Team Leader, you will work with your team to create a safe, healthy, sustainable, and joyful food experience for both the customer and the Co-worker.

    Contributes to the implementation the global and national compliance standards in the area of responsibility to secure a safe environment for customers and co-workers
    Ensure that every customer has a consistently excellent shopping experience by supporting, challenging and coaching co-workers to see through a customers eyes
    Ensure the appropriate processes followed and actions are taken on a daily basis to secure food safety, standards and reduce waste
    Act upon customer feedback, recognising good customer service and taking appropriate action to avoid repeated problems
    Build the competence of the team through regular coaching, support and encouragement
