A globally established insurer with a well-regarded transactional risk offering is looking to appoint an M&A Underwriter to join its team, underwriting warranty and indemnity risk across UK and international deals. This is a business with genuine scale and a broad geographic remit, offering exposure to a wide variety of deal types, sectors and jurisdictions rather than a narrow domestic book. The successful candidate will take ownership of the full underwriting process on live transactions, from initial risk assessment through to policy issuance, working closely with brokers, legal counsel and other market participants to structure and price cover on complex M&A transactions. Given the international nature of the book, there is considerable scope to build relationships and deal flow beyond the UK market, and the team is particularly keen to hear from candidates who can bring an additional dimension to that reach. We are looking for someone with either broking or underwriting experience specifically within W&I, or alternatively a strong corporate M&A lawyer looking to make the pivot into insurance who can demonstrate a solid grounding in transactional work, due diligence and deal documentation. Candidates who bring French or Italian language capability will be of particular interest, given the international scope of the role and the opportunities it presents to develop business in those markets. This is a genuine opportunity to move away from the billable hour, take ownership of high-value decisions, and stay close to the deals you already know well, whilst broadening your experience across a wider variety of transactions and geographies than most in-house or private practice roles would allow.Visit the IDEX Consulting Ltd website for further opportunities. Not only is this your opportunity to build out the marine team of a fiercely independent retail and wholesale broker, you'll also take ownership of an existing marine book of business generated from their European offices, meaning you won't be starting from scratch. You'll be responsible for placing internal marine hull (brown water) and marine cargo business as it comes through, building strong relationships across the European network and ultimately being given the platform to grow and shape the division as you see fit. You'll work closely with the Head of Specialty, a genuinely great leader with an excellent track record of building high-performing teams by simply putting people first. This is a real opportunity for a Senior Marine Broker or Producer looking to step into a leadership role and take ownership of a growing marine division. If you're the sort of Marine Broker or Producer who wants to have a voice, bring ideas to the table and be trusted to go and make things happen, this is exactly the kind of environment where you'll thrive. As an insurance recruitment business, we've placed more than 20 people into this firm over the years and the feedback has always been exceptional. The culture is genuinely people-focused, management is flat and accessible, and there's none of the corporate red tape you often find in the larger Lloyd's brokers. There are good markets already in place (if you have some additional markets to bring, even better). The platform is certainly there, but as a marine insurance professional, this is your opportunity to make it your own. On offer is a salary of up to 120,000 plus bonus/commission. We're keen to speak with market-facing Marine Brokers and Producers, particularly those who enjoy building something, driving strategic growth and making a name for themselves in the market. At the moment, this firm are better geared for brown water marine hull and cargo business as opposed to large complex H&M If you have a CV that's great, but if it's not up to date as yet, not to worry - Simply get in touch for more informationVisit the IDEX Consulting Ltd website for further opportunities.
