A Day in the Life of a Band 8a Clinical Psychologist:
Join our Diabetes Psychology Service and provide highly specialist psychological input for people living with diabetes and/or challenges surrounding diabetes management. Your core responsibilities will include:
Delivering specialist psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions (1:1 and group)
Providing complex case formulations using psychological tests, self-report measures, structured interviews and observations
Offering consultation and psychological guidance to the MDT
Supporting individuals with adjustment to diagnosis, treatment adherence and coping with long-term conditions
Contributing to service development, clinical audit, and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements & Qualifications:
Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology
HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
Significant post-qualification experience within NHS services
Knowledge and experience of working with patients with long-term health conditions (desirable)
Excellent communication and clinical formulation skills
Ability to work autonomously and as part of an MDT
Working Hours & Contract Duration:
