    Head of Facilities Job Details Job Title: Head of Facilities Department: Facilities Campus: Cross Campus Salary: Grade 7 Point 33 - £53,523.74 Contract Type: Permanent / Full time / 37 hours per week / 52 weeks About the Role We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Facilities to lead the operational management of our College estate. This pivotal role oversees all aspects of hard and soft facilities management across multiple sites, driving sustainability initiatives, ensuring health & safety compliance, and supporting strategic property developments. With a strong focus on leadership, commercial acumen, and service excellence, the Director will play a key role in shaping a safe, efficient, and future-ready learning environment. Responsibilities You will be responsible for: To lead and manage College sites in the delivery of hard and soft facilities management services including – team management, resource planning, premises maintenance, security, outsourced contracts, suppliers and commercial lettings.To lead and develop the College environmental and sustainability strategy.To lead College Health & Safety practices and policies including off-site trips.To support partners in executing College Property Strategy including land sale disposal and future capital refurb programmes.To ensure the College has robust Business Continuity and Emergency response procedures in place and regularly tested. Requirements You will need: Qualified to degree level (preferably Engineering) / Chartered Surveyor and/or Certified CIWFM NEBOSH or IOSH (or willingness to undertake qualification)Management of Asbestos (BOHS P402)Experience of strategic and operational planningExperience of M&E maintenance e.g, lifts, boilers, plant, auto-doors.Experience of building project management through specification, tender, appointment and contractor managementExperience of build/land disposal/sales activityExperience in Health and Safety managementExperience in identifying budgets and prioritising worksExperience required in compliance/governance to current British standardsExperience required in risk management Experience in Capex planning and forward maintenance registerKnowledge of how to grow commercial income from refectory outlets and external lettings Experience of using Excel, Word and Microsoft Project Manager and CAD softwareThorough and up to date knowledge of the law regarding health and safety Benefits In return, you will receive:
