We are currently seeking a reliable and organised General Assistant to join our busy & supportive catering team.In this essential support role, you will assist with a variety of kitchen and service duties, including basic food preparation, keeping kitchen and service areas clean and tidy, and helping with the setup and delivery of meals. Job Description
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the kitchen team with basic food preparation and cooking tasksAssist with setting up and serving meals to pupils and staffEnsure kitchen, dining, and service areas are clean, tidy, and hygienic at all timesWash up crockery, utensils, and kitchen equipment as requiredFollow all food hygiene, health and safety, and company proceduresHelp with unpacking and storing deliveriesProvide excellent customer service and maintain a friendly, helpful attitudeSupport hospitality events as required (e.g. parent evenings, school functions)Work as part of a team to ensure smooth, efficient serviceCarry out other duties as reasonably requested by the Head Chef or Catering Manager
Qualifications
Qualifications and ExperiencePrevious experience in a catering or cleaning environment (desirable but not essential)Basic understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety practicesLevel 1 Food Hygiene Certificate (can be provided during training)Good communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work efficiently and follow instructionsReliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and attitudePositive, can-do approach to workPhysically able to be on your feet for extended periods and carry out manual tasksWillingness to learn and adapt to a busy school environment
