Being a Support Worker at Holly Court is a varied, exciting, and rewarding role. All of our services are unique, being tailored to suit the needs of adults and young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and physical disabilities, and our teams work hard to ensure that the standards of care and support are consistent and of high quality. No two days are the same at Holly Court, but the role will include supporting with activities, personal care, eating and drinking, supporting and helping with health care needs, including routine checks, attending appointments and social engagements, clinical support in administrating medication and Gastronomy care. Encouraging and supporting the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests. Our new digital systems provide staff with more time to engage with the adults and young people, ensuring we capture all the great work we do. Day to day role of a Support Worker: Your days at Hollybank will be as varied as the people we support, however your typical day to day role will include: Supporting with meals and drinks, and to help them to get excited about being involved in cooking and baking! Helping with their personal care, including bathing and showering, so they look and feel great. Engaging in meaningful activities both at home and out in the community – such as the cinema or bowling. Building a relationship with the adults and their families, so that you can provide truly person-centred, individualised care. Experience is welcome, but not essential, as all training will be given. We support the Adults to live enriched lives through a range of in house and external activities, including structured activities at Hollybank’s main site in Mirfield. The team also work alongside Hollybank’s in-house therapies team, who assess the various aspects of the Adults’ needs in order to write their individual care plans and develop bespoke training them to meet these needs. We are looking for some experienced and values-led people to join our Bank Staff team specifically for night shifts. Typically, our night shifts start between 7:45pm and 9:15pm, and finish between 7:15am and 8:45am depending on the needs of the service. This will include any weekend shifts, so please only apply if you are able to work shifts in line with this. When you start your role at Hollybank, we will ask you to do 2-4 weeks of shifts on days (including your mandatory Trust Induction) so that you can get to know our adults better. This will allow you to work closely with them, and develop a deeper appreciation of their likes, dislikes, routines, and communication methods. If you are not able to commit to this, please do not apply as we are not able to accomodate alternative inductions. The role will be as varied as the people we support, but typical duties will include: Supporting adults to engage in meaningful activities. Supporting adults with their night-time routine, including personal care and bathing/showering. Keeping the home tidy and clean, and some laundry duties.
