As an in-house claims specialist you will be responsible for delivering a trusted, superior claims service to our customers as you support them and help mitigate and resolve the impact of significant insured events. You will have extensive experience in handling high value property claims for both commercial and private clients alongside the strong influencing and communication skills required to engage a broad variety of stakeholders and inspire confidence in our customers during their time of need.You’ll thrive on being accountable and have your own caseload of major and complex property and business interruption claims, handling these claims from cradle to grave, delivering an exceptional quality and pro-active claims service to our clients and brokers, whilst maintaining and enhancing the Hiscox reputation and brand.Whilst site visits to meet our customers and understand the impact of the loss will be encouraged, you will be primarily desk based in this role. This may mirror your current role, or perhaps you’re currently doing a field-based role and looking for some more work life balance, maybe you want to work for a company who truly puts the customer first, empathising and dealing with the claim in the fairest way possible.While reporting to the Major and Complex Loss Claims Manager on a day-to-day basis, you will also have direct access to senior underwriters, the Head of Property Claims and the Head of Claims for Hiscox UK.What you’ll be doing:Pro-actively managing a portfolio of HNW household and commercial claims ranging from £100,000 to millions of pounds, working in partnership with our suppliers, experts and appointed Loss Adjusters.Helping customers in their greatest time of need – many of the claims which come to the Major and Complex Loss Team are significant both in value and the impact on the customer’s life.     We are seeking a Team Leader to work within Property Claims department, managing a team of Claims Underwriters who handle a high volume of personal and commercial property claims up to £100,000 in value. In this fast paced environment, the team strive to deliver a market leading claims service to our customers and brokers whilst maintaining and enhancing the Hiscox reputation for its claims handling service. The successful candidate will be able to inspire and motivate a team of talented Claims Underwriters to put the customer at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that when the worst happens we respond in a human, empathetic and professional way.It is the Team Leader’s responsibility to ensure that all of the key performance indicators are constantly monitored and consistently exceeded, including speed of settlement, net promoter score and quality audits.
