Core Services Access Control Video Surveillance Systems Audio/Video Entryphone Intruder Alarms IP Based Systems Fire Alarms Smoke Vents Emergency Lighting Gate Automation Door Automation Responsibilities Corrective maintenance works, including fault finding, troubleshooting and achieving a first-time fix whenever possible. Remedial and small works. Preventative maintenance. Client on-site liaison. Working with monitored systems in liaison with the Alarm Receiving Centre. Act as a company ambassador when out in the field. Completion of all required site and electronic paperwork promptly and with attention to detail. Demonstrate good industry knowledge across all required disciplines. Participate in regular ongoing internal and external technical, regulatory and health & safety training. Participate in the out-of-hours On Call rota. Key Skills Demonstrate good industry knowledge across all disciplines of integrated Security and Life Safety Systems. Technically strong on electrical principles. Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills. Sound knowledge of relevant regulations and standards. Personal Attributes Good communication skills with both customers and colleagues. Multi-disciplined Service Engineer. Team orientated. Strong time-management skills. Confident user of Microsoft Office and working with networked/IP-based systems. Proactive. Able to run works autonomously. The ability to supervise and motivate other engineers. Self-motivated and willing to use initiative. Salary & Benefits Dependent on skills and experience. Company vehicle and fuel card. Out-of-hours On Call is required roughly one week in six. £385/week standby payment, plus callouts at: £90 for travel to and first hour on site, with standard overtime rate for subsequent hours. Paid overtime. Private health insurance scheme for employees and families. Pension scheme. Company mobile, tablet and laptop. Full uniform including PPE. Key Responsibilities Service, maintain, diagnose, and repair a wide range of plant machinery. Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults efficiently. Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) to ensure equipment is ready for hire. Prepare machinery to company standards, ensuring reliability and safety. Replace defective components and carry out major repairs where required. Accurately complete job cards, inspection sheets, and maintenance records. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment. Ensure all work complies with current health and safety legislation and company procedures. Liaise with the Workshop Manager regarding repair progress, parts requirements, and workload priorities. Assist with loading, unloading, and movement of machinery within the depot when required. Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote best engineering practices. Skills & Experience Essential Previous experience maintaining and repairing plant machinery. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical engineering. Ability to diagnose faults quickly and effectively. Experience using workshop diagnostic equipment and tools. Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a workshop environment. Full UK driving licence. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or a related engineering discipline. Experience working on excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, rollers, generators, compressors, or similar equipment. Welding and fabrication experience. Forklift licence. IPAF, CPCS, or NPORS qualifications (beneficial but not essential). Personal Attributes Positive and proactive attitude. Strong attention to detail. Reliable and dependable.
