Job Responsibilities: Provide technical services for a range of construction related disciplines, and activities, focused on delivering great service everyday supporting their clients’ primary assets to enable an extraordinary airport, fit for the future You’ll be supporting the Maintenance and Site Managers with expertise, managing and developing a reactive team in the quality and timely maintenance delivery for a variety of civil and infrastructure assets You’ll ensure workflow runs smoothly, ensure standard processes are followed by the team, review outputs for quality-controlled documentation, track performance, and manage software Ensure excellent safety, standards and quality are maintained throughout the life cycle of projects About You What you'll bring (Essential Skills and Experience): Ability to prepare, review, manage and file documents for specific projects. Copy, scan, store & distribute Manage technical documents Maintain an up-to-date folder containing hardcopies of all project drawings and the latest revisions as a minimum Create, request, and manage document numbers Submit documentation to the client for review using their management system Attend project review meetings and report to the documentation manager routinely Ability to assess the quality and properties of all incoming and outgoing official documentation Navigate and routinely monitor the client’s project documentation portals Maintain a good relationship with the client through communication Ability to submit project documentation within the given timeframe and in line with the works programme, standards, and procedures - with the ability to prioritise workflow Upload project documentation is stored and maintained within D&Bs internal EDMS correctly (workspace) and distributed where required Create, populate & manage a live document tracker specific to the project to record every document and transmittal Create, populate & manage a live transmittal register and issue sheet to log all external transmittals Ability to assist the wider team – QS, CM, PM etc. with anything that maybe relevant to your role Create a template or document when required Retrieve and follow up files when required by employees and client Desirable: Organised and fine attention to detail Proactive and methodical Ability to prioritise own workload Friendly with a good attitude towards work and deadlines, with the desire to progress Works well under pressure, with the ability to take instruction when needed Civil engineering background and/or aviation industry experience desirable Good knowledge of Excel, Adobe & Word essential Experience of document management system softwares such as Meridian and Asite would be advantageous What’s in it for you? The scheme provides career changing opportunities for residents close to the airport.  Groundworkers play a vital role in preparing construction sites, ensuring the foundations are solid, and creating the essential infrastructure for buildings and other structures. To be a groundworker, you will need a good level of fitness, a basic knowledge of building methods with an understanding of the materials used in construction. Initially you will help to prepare the site by unloading and storing building materials in a safe and efficient manner. Once the building work gets underway, further duties could include: Clearing the construction site of debris, vegetation, and other obstacles.  Excavating and leveling the ground to the required depth and dimensions.  Marking out areas for foundations and ensuring they are accurately measured and set up.  Digging trenches for foundations and ensuring they are at the correct depth and alignment.  Laying foundations often involving concrete and steel reinforcements.  Installing drainage systems, including pipes and sewers, ensuring proper gradients for efficient water flow.  Creating appropriate falls and cambers to facilitate surface water drainage.  Form working – putting up or dismantling the shuttering that holds the concrete in place. Mixing, layering and smoothing concrete for foundations, floors and beams  Steel fixing – bending and fixing the bars used to reinforce concrete structures  Steel piling – fixing steel sheets together to form temporary retaining walls for excavation work  Collaborating effectively with other construction professionals, including architects, engineers, and fellow groundworkers.  Adhering to strict safety guidelines and protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).  Implementing safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries on the construction site.  Typical Working Week 40 hours p/w with start time typically between 07:00 & 08:00 inclusive of paid 8 hours at college. The apprenticeship duration is 18 months.
