If you are kind, compassionate and committed, we would love for you to lead our kitchen team in our lovely Nursing/Residential Home, Meadow House, catering for 38 residents. Meadow House offers residential and nursing care to the Norfolk community. The facility also provides care for young people with disabilities and specialises in caring for individuals with multiple sclerosis. The home is entirely on the ground floor and has a very friendly atmosphere - where everyone is treated like family. What would a typical day look like? Liaising with our residents to prepare a variety of home cooked meals in accordance with various allergy and dietary requirements.Writing and planning weekly menus, stock control and ordering as well as keeping wastage to a minimum.Using your creativity for our regular theme nights, where we prepare dishes from around the world.Developing and managing our existing kitchen team. The successful candidate will have experience in working in a professional kitchen, have good organisational skills and knowledge of good kitchen practices and food hygiene standards. City and Guilds or NVQ qualifications are preferred but not essential as they can be provided through our Academy. Whilst no day will be the same in this incredibly rewarding role, responsibilities will include: Designing and distributing newsletters to our residents and their family members, updating them on the events and activities being held at the home.Implementing a monthly calendar filled with a variety of different engaging activities which may include arts and crafts, outside entertainment, themed days/nights, excursions and the usual interactive games.Collaborating with the care team to support with our residents social enhancement and maintain their sense of wellbeing.Promoting our home and events across social media channels, encouraging interaction and involvement with the local community.
