Your new roleAs a Management Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function and driving business performance. Your responsibilities will include:Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.Maintain and update standard costs, BOMs, routings, and labour/machine rates.Analyse manufacturing variances: PPV, material usage, labour, overheads, and efficiency.Oversee stock valuation for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods; investigate discrepancies and support stock counts.Produce margin, overhead, and production cost reports with clear insights for operational teams.Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost modelling for production and operational decision-making.Partner with Production, Engineering, Procurement, and Supply Chain to challenge performance and improve cost control.Monitor KPIs across manufacturing operations and highlight risks, trends, and opportunities.Strengthen financial controls around stock, costing, and manufacturing processes; assist with audits.Drive process improvements and enhance system use within the finance and operations workflow.What you'll need to succeedFully qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) preferred, or nearing full qualificationProven experience as a Management Accountant within manufacturingStrong analytical skills and attention to detailStrong knowledge of stock accounting, standard costing, and ERP systems; advanced Excel skillsAnalytical, detail-focused, proactive, and able to communicate clearly with non-finance stakeholders.A proactive approach and ability to communicate effectively across departmentsWhat you'll get in returnUp to £55,000 DOE + bonus25 days holiday + bank holidaysAE pension contributionOpportunity to work in a growing, forward-thinking businessCareer development and progression opportunitiesSupportive team environmentOn-site parking What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
