    Role overview

    Due to our incredible growth, we're growing a brand-new team. As a Specialist Recovery Handler within Home Claims, you will use your recovery knowledge and experience to proactively pursue the successful recovery of Hastings' outlay against the party or parties responsible for the damage to our Customer's home. You will be supporting our Customers, helping them understand the recovery journey and keeping them updated throughout the life of the claim. You'll be taking a rigorous approach to recoveries by working effectively with our legal panel, when required, to achieve the best possible outcomes. Over time you will move into handling home liability claims alongside recoveries as we continue on our growth plan and support coaching and mentoring across the team.




    Job details - you'll need to have demonstrable experience in:

    Proactively managing and maintaining a portfolio of home recovery claims ranging in complexity and value and, where appropriate, instructing panel solicitors to assist with the recovery and initiate legal proceedings
    Managing recovery referrals from colleagues and suppliers, thoroughly investigating claims to identify and progress valid recoveries and working closely with the wider Home Claims colleagues to increase awareness of recoveries and ensuring these opportunities are identified
    Working with our supply chain to build robust processes to maximise recovery opportunities and success and assisting with the measurement of supplier performance on recoveries
    Maintaining accurate financials on all claims owned within the portfolio, adhering to the recovery reserving philosophy and applying a true reserve based on realistic recovery prospects
    Ensuring our customers are kept up to date of all material developments, including how we arrive at any claims decision that will impact them, by telephone (inbound and outbound) and written correspondence
    Using recovery claims knowledge and all available investigations tools to resolve liability and quantum challenges




    Essential skills/experience:

    Previous experience of handling home insurance claim recoveries (and general experience of handling home claims and understanding general home claims processes)
    Sound knowledge and experience of understand relevant legal principles and case law
    Outstanding communication and organisational skills, ensuring our customers are always kept updated
    Experience of handling property liability claims would be beneficial

    Role overview


    Working as part of a dedicated team, you'll be responsible for investigating suspected fraudulent third-party claims. You'll also be dealing with a caseload of multiple fraud types, gathering evidence and liaising with our panel solicitors to identify fraudster activity and making effective claim management decisions.




    Job details - you'll need to have demonstrable experience in:

    Working promptly and accurately to gather all the relevant evidence for investigations - including contacting all the involved parties, conducting interviews, reviewing engineer's reports and assessing vehicle damage
    Investigating multiple fraud types
    Successfully managing and maintaining a live caseload of claims through its lifecycle utilising our systems
    Having a proactive attitude towards your caseload of work, having a keen eye for detail and confident communication skills to work as part of a team dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes
    Working in partnership with our panel of legal suppliers to ensure we're reaching the best commercial outcomes for Hastings Direct and our customers
    Ensuring that you're meeting customers fair and reasonable expectations and providing fair outcomes



    Essential skills/experience:


    Previous experience of handling motor fraud claims
    Proven background in claims handling and awareness of motor claims processes
    Excellent attention to detail as quality is paramount when dealing with suspected fraudulent claims
