we’re looking for insight, curiosity and lived or professional experience that will help strengthen our decision making and
ensure positive outcomes for our customers, communities, and colleagues.
What you’ll do
As a Board Member, you’ll provide strategic leadership, ensuring the organisation is well governed and delivers meaningful social impact for our customers, communities, and colleagues.
You'll help shape and oversee the long-term strategic direction, contribute to key decisions, set the risk appetite, and ensure robust business planning and budgets are in place to
monitor and manage performance.
You’ll also approve key policies and take decisions that uphold the Board’s governance responsibilities. In this role,
you’ll lead with purpose, support our Executive team, build strong partnerships, and drive continuous improvement in the services and experiences we provide.

You’ll need motivation and at least 2 days per month to carry out your duties. In return this role can be hugely rewarding and a great opportunity to learn and develop.
You’ll have an interest in housing, care, and support, understanding the challenges and opportunities within these sectors, and committed to improving the lives of our customers, communities, and colleagues.
Whilst previous experience as a Board Member would be beneficial, it
isn’t necessary. We provide a tailored induction to help you become confident in your new role addressing areas that may be new to you.
Occasional travel to our head office in Cardiff and our other sites across South Wales will be a requirement of this role.

Hendre is the parent body of Hafod, and our Hendre Board is responsible for setting strategy and directing our affairs to ensure long-term success.
The Board has ultimate responsibility for ensuring governance, financial, legal and service obligations are properly fulfilled, with leadership being delegated to the Chief Executive and Executive team.
