The postholder will be part of a key national team driving innovation in mental health. Main duties of the job Job Summary/Purpose The post-holder will take responsibility for the effective management of the Research and Innovation Digital Navigators at GM.Digital Research Unit (RU), which is a collaboration between Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) and The University of Manchester. The GM.Digital RU focuses on developing and delivering interventions to provide better outcomes for children, young people and adults experiencing mental illness. By using innovative digital technologies, we hope that these tools will become more accessible and acceptable, and that this support will be able to help larger groups of people over the coming years. The post holder will establish and lead a new team of Research and Innovation Digital Navigators to act as a bridge between technology and mental health care, empowering service users and clinical teams to make the most of digital tools. The team will act as a pioneering national team of Digital Navigators supporting the implementation of digital mental health technologies across the UK. We have a senior practitioner for OT within the team who will work closely with you, as well as working with the support workers and carer support worker to deliver interventions, groups and quality-of-life improving care. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will undertake a split care coordinator/occupational therapist position in a busy specialist EIT team. The post holder will also support the day to day functions of the service by participating in the duty and assessment rota and supporting the planning and delivery of groups and activities for service users.  The post holder will carry out evidence based occupational assessments and write up reports of a high standard, which highlight how biological sociological and psychological factors interact to create obstacles to the satisfactory participation of an individual service user in valued social roles. Referrers will be professionals involved in the care of women who may need access to the Perinatal Service Cluster 3 including health visitors, GPs and midwives. The duty system will ensure all referrals are processed in as timely a way as possible. The Perinatal duty worker will be a band 6 or above who will screen all referrals and discuss urgent or emergency referrals with the Clinical and Operational leads for allocation. The team provides short-term, time-limited input and has a liaison role. The team is based at Christopher Home (Royal Albert Infirmary, Wigan). The team has been operational since November 2013.  Mental Health Urgent Response Team: This is an established team based at Christopher Home, Royal Albert Edward Infirmary. It is the single point of referral/access - for all service users referred to Adult Mental Health Services. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The service facilitates assessment and intervention at the first point of contact, following PbR (Payment by Results) Care Clustering - facilitating a needs - led care framework. The Mental Health Urgent Response Team offers a model of collaborative care, at the interface between primary and specialist mental health care.  Main duties of the job Clinical role 
     
    • Undertake assessments of referrals/ admissions to the service 
    • Diagnose and formulate management plans in complex presentations. 
    • Provide management in treatment resistant and complex presentations.
