About The Role As GWR implements its new HR and payroll system, PeopleXD, you will be instrumental in driving the successful adoption across GWR's 7,000+ colleagues. Your role will be to develop a training strategy, create learning materials for multiple delivery formats, facilitate training sessions that build user confidence and capability, and provide post-implementation support. In this role you will work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders to minimise capability gaps, drive adoption and ensure GWR colleagues are fully prepared to embrace the new HR and payroll processes. Your main responsibilities include: Training Strategy: Conducting training needs analysis and identifying audience needs. Developing training roadmap and schedules. Creating an evaluation framework. Course Design & Materials: Design new courses with Stakeholder input which can be delivered both face to face and online. Pilot all new and substantially updated courses to gain feedback and sign-off, working within our branding guidelines and L&D standards to ensure resources are engaging and appropriate. Minimise risk of capability gaps to help ensure business readiness ahead of go-live and create materials to consolidate learning, such as videos and quick reference guides. Course Delivery: Deliver courses and identify evidence of delegate learning, in line with company and L&D best practice. Engage colleagues through supportive and tailored learning experiences, through both online and classroom delivery as appropriate, adapting training to suit audiences. Deliver train the trainer sessions to speed up delivery to wider audiences. Troubleshoot basic user issues and escalate any observed technical problems. Course Evaluation: Capture and review all feedback on courses delivered to enhance future delivery. Ensure work completed is cost and time efficient, sharing share ideas for improvement. Administration/Housekeeping: Complete all paperwork for courses, effectively use company resource planning tools to manage training delivery and ensure all training venues are safe and conducive for learning. Post Implementation Support: Consider options to provide post go-live support, such as drop-in sessions and FAQ resources. About You To be successful for this role, you will have the following: Knowledge: HR & Payroll process knowledge. Understanding of data privacy/GDPR as it relates to HR systems. Clear understanding and application of the learning cycle and other learning and development principles. Skills: Training course delivery and design. Ability to be flexible and adapt to various training environments, people and situations. Time management skills to meet tight project deadlines. Adept at working with stakeholders, with good presentation and communication skills. IT literate (inc. software). Be forward thinking, seeking ways to improve and keep pace with system updates and problem solving. Flexible to adapt to organisational training needs. About The Location This role will mainly be based in our HQ in Swindon, with an element of hybrid working and training in other locations. About the job You will be working within a team Gateline Assistants reporting to the Duty Station Manager.  The purpose of the role is to be the face of Great Western Trains safely operating the ticket barriers, as well as giving our customers a positive impression of the company and to exceed their expectations of customer service.  Your main responsibilities will be: Delivering a high level of service to customers Assisting in the day to day operation of the automatic ticket barriers Ensuring customer security and responding to customer enquiries Inspecting and issuing tickets Addressing customer needs in times of service disruption Ensuring the professional appearance of the gateline area by clearing rubbish and making sure customer walkways are unobstructed Selling tickets via a mobile ticket machine and associated accountancy processes  You'll need to be: Able to provide excellent customer service and remain calm particularly during times of service disruption. As an integral part of our on-board teams, you will deliver a world-class customer experience to our customers – helping us deliver our vision of revaluing rail in the hearts and minds of the travelling public. As a Ticket Examiner, you will liaise with colleagues throughout the journey and will ensure the safety of everyone using GWR services. To be an ambassador for Great Western Railway by delivering the best customer experience and a safe journey To sell a wide range of tickets, offering the most appropriate product to suit the customer's requirements, and undertake a full inspection of tickets and railcards on trains Undertake revenue protection activities around special events Issue Penalty Fares to customers where appropriate, The Railways (Penalty Fares) Regulations 2018 To welcome customers and assist them with their journey, always providing information and customer care, but especially when the service is disrupted While walking through the train, ensure that a safe and clean train environment is maintained What sort of person are you looking for? This position is based at Westbury station and the role is prominently station-based with some on-train working Week 1 Shifts 0600 to 1000 (earlier), week 2 Lates 1500 to 1900 With the requirement of weekend working What else do I need to know? You must live within a maximum of 60 minutes' travelling time of the depot. Please note that the training is full-time (35 hours per week) and lasts three weeks. The basic salary during probation is £24,512 pro rata, rising to £28,218 pro rata after probation.  Additionally, you will earn commission on the ticket sales you make. You'll interview suspected passengers with ticketing issues under caution and question them. You will then compile your evidence, fill out forms, and process paperwork. But even in these moments, we're looking to you to make passengers feel good about their experience with us.
