    Job Description Duties will involve carrying out various cleansing and manual handling tasks within various environments such as highways, properties, open spaces, and parks as required and assisting with higher graded operatives / tradesmen with more skilled work. In this role you will be operating associated machinery and providing information as required for inputs into asset management equipment. Good communication skills, an ability to deal with the public and work within a team are essential. Previous experience of labouring and operating equipment is advantageous although full training will be provided. The location is city wide and candidates must be prepared to work at any Depot location as required. A 4 on/ 4 off working pattern, including weekend working, is in operation.     Job Description We are seeking an experienced and motivated Building Surveyor to support the delivery of statutory and voluntary repair programmes across Glasgow’s private housing sector particularly our older tenement buildings. You will act as Contract Administrator, providing technical advice and ensuring repair works to tenement properties are delivered to required standards of quality, compliance and sustainability. The role involves working with homeowners, contractors, Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) and internal and external stakeholders. You will also support the Affordable Housing Supply Programme (AHSP) and Affordable Warmth initiatives, including reviewing proposals, drawings and specifications, and undertaking site inspections. A background in Building Surveying (or similar) is desirable, along with strong communication skills and the ability to manage a varied workload. This is a key role contributing to the preservation and improvement of Glasgow’s pre- 1919 tenement housing stock, supporting the delivery of sustainable housing and Net Zero targets. BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or equivalent is an essential qualification.     Job Description An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability (NRS) for a Tobacco Control Officer to join our Environmental Health and Trading Standards team on a permanent basis. If you are interested in working within a role that directly supports tobacco and Nicotine Vapour Product compliance across Glasgow, please read on. Position Details Working within the Trading Standards service, you will work as part of the Tobacco Control Team conducting underage sales test purchases and nicotine product compliance checks, contributing to the delivery of a high quality regulatory service within Glasgow. This includes the provision of legislation controlling the supply of tobacco and nicotine vapour products, The work will involve the supervision of young people, in addition you will carry out other duties within the Trading Standards Service. The post consists of evening and alternate weekend working, which would include a non standard payment. Experience of enforcing legislation and/or providing advice to the public and businesses is required. A driving licence is also desirable. This is a challenging and rewarding role in a busy local authority environment.
