We are seeking a highly capable and self-driven rd line support engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft , particularly SharePoint Online development and ideally Microsoft Purview configuration. This role is critical to the stability, security, and evolution of our digital workplace services.The main focus of the role will be around Sharepoint development and governance, but you will also act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues, lead the resolution of high-impact incidents, and contribute to the design and implementation of secure, scalable solutions across the Microsoft platform. Provide expert-level rd line support for Microsoft services, with a strong focus on:SharePoint Online: site architecture, custom development (SPFx), Power Automate workflows, and permissions management.Microsoft Purview: configuration of data lifecycle policies, retention labels, DLP, sensitivity labels, and compliance solutions.Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents and service requests escalated from st and nd line teams.Lead root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes for recurring issues.Design and implement automation scripts using PowerShell to streamline administration and reporting.Collaborate with security, compliance, and infrastructure teams to ensure governance, data protection, and regulatory compliance.Maintain and enhance documentation, knowledge base articles, and technical runbooks.Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal training and capability development.Participate in change management processes and contribute to technical design discussions for new services and improvements.About You:Required Skills & ExperienceProven experience in a senior Microsoft support or engineering role.Deep technical knowledge of:SharePoint Online development and administrationMicrosoft Purview (Information Protection, Data Lifecycle Management, Insider Risk, etc.)Microsoft compliance and security featuresStrong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell.Experience with Microsoft Graph API and REST APIs for M services.Ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex issues, and propose effective, scalable solutions.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Desirable QualificationsMicrosoft certifications such as MS-, SC-, or MS-.Experience with:Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Exchange OnlineMicrosoft Defender for Cloud Apps and Entra ID ProtectionHybrid environments and legacy files to SharePoint Online migrationsFamiliarity with Agile or ITIL-based service management practices.What We Can Offer in Return:With an impressive order book of over £ billion we are one of the industry’s leading principal contractors, affording you the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most exciting projects offering you stability as well as the chance to stretch your capabilities and realise long held career goals.
