Providing expert advice on ecological matters to clients, stakeholders, and project teams. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies. About you: A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field. At least 1 years’ experience in ecological consultancy, with a strong focus on conducting surveys, assessments, preparing a range of ecological reports, and the project management of smaller jobs. Sound knowledge of UK ecology legislation, guidelines, and best practice. Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Experienced in advising clients on Biodiversity Net Gain, understanding and use of the DEFRA Statutory Biodiversity Metric and production of associated reports and plans. You may have a particular ecological specialism or hold protected species licence/s. Membership or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM).     In preparation of the start of the 2026 ecological survey season, we are looking for some additional support and resource within our Northern Regional Team based at our York office within the Castle Howard estate. The primary task that is required for the role of Office Assistant, is the scheduling of our 22 ecologists on ecological surveys which are located across the north of the UK. This will require a strong logistical experience, good communication skills, and the ability to problem solve often at short notice. Our ecologists undertake a variety of protected species surveys for species such as birds, bats, newts and badgers to name a few. Each survey has specific requirements depending on the species being surveyed and needs to consider factors such as the timings and seasons, weather, personnel and geographic restrictions that determine when and who can undertake each; this needs to be fed into our schedule for each member of the ecology team, so they know where and with whom they are going every day. The schedule is fundamental for the smooth running of the season for our team, which can be challenging during the peak season and during changeable weather conditions.  The successful candidate will also be responsible for assistance with health and safety, maintenance and monitoring of survey equipment, uploading data etc. In addition, the role will include some more general administration tasks for the Ecology and Arboriculture Teams within the office. We are looking for someone with a bright and positive personality, who has excellent organisational and problem solving skills, and is good working as part of a team. The role will involve: Ecology staff survey scheduling Maintenance and monitoring of work equipment, ensuring it is ready to be used for ecology surveys Assistance with Health and Safety Administrative support to the team members Upkeep of the office The ideal candidate will have: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills    Experience in an administration role Experience of running a schedule/event planner or similar Proficiency with Microsoft Office A bright and positive personality with a “can do” attitude Good IT skills Good organisational skills Experience or interest in Ecology would be desirable This is a full-time role, which will be office-based 5 days a week. We are open to discussion about part-time or flexible working around our core working hours (9:30 - 4:30).     THE ROLE We are looking for enthusiastic Senior or Principal Landscape Architects to join our expanding team in Lockington, near Derby. We are seeking talented individuals to help support the continued growth of the practice, working on a wide variety of projects involving detailed landscape design, masterplanning, green infrastructure design and implementation, landscape and visual impact assessment and public realm design across the UK. You will be part of a forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary team of Landscape Architects and Urban Designers, working closely with our Architects, Ecologists, and Arboriculturists. Our collaborative and joined-up approach consistently delivers design and environmental excellence for clients across many sectors.We have opportunities across the full spectrum of Landscape Architecture, Landscape Planning and Urban Design. To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate the following capabilities and experience:  A relevant postgraduate qualification, with 2 or more years professional experience. Be a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI). Experience of concept design and detailed landscape design. Experience of masterplanning would be advantageous. Experience in LVIA is desirable. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. Highly skilled in a range of 2D and 3D CAD software, and a willingness to learn. Vectorworks, LSS, Lumion and GIS experience would be desirable.  Demonstrate the ability to think creatively to innovate and problem-solve collaboratively. A strong communicator with excellent written, verbal and graphic communication skills. Ability to supervise more junior staff, where they are supporting you to produce work. Ability to prioritise and work on multiple projects and tasks effectively. UK driving licence with access to (or willingness to obtain) a private car for site visits.
