As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping service users live fulfilling, independent lives by promoting their well-being, encouraging positive behaviours, and helping them achieve their personal goals. We have day and night shifts available. Key responsibilities as our Support Worker Person-Centered Support: Provide high-quality, tailored care to individuals, supporting their physical, emotional, and social needs while respecting their dignity, choices, and preferences. Promote Independence: Encourage and assist service users in developing life skills, such as budgeting, cooking, and personal care, to enhance their independence in daily living. Manage Challenging Behaviours: Use de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies to support individuals in coping with challenging behaviours in a safe, compassionate manner. Health & Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of service users at all times by following individual risk assessments and care plans, and maintaining a safe living environment. Build Positive Relationships: Foster strong, trusting relationships with service users, their families, and external professionals (e.g., social workers, healthcare staff) to promote collaboration in care planning and delivery. Support Plans: Following individual care and support plans of each client Daily Activities: Assist service users with personal care, daily routines, and participation in community activities to encourage a balanced, healthy lifestyle. Documentation: Keep accurate, up-to-date records on the service user's progress, incidents, and any other relevant information in line with company policies and regulatory standards. Ideal Support Worker candidate Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and/or challenging behaviours is preferred but not essential—full training provided. Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient nature. Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in a calm, supportive manner. A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace. Knowledge of safeguarding practices and health and safety regulations. Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
