    HGV Class 2 Driver

    Flanagan Flooring (based in Saintfield) are currently looking to recruit a new member to our transport team. The successful applicant will be required to perform duties such as loading and unloading vehicles, making delivery of flooring products and cash handling from our customers base.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    As the face of our company your role means you are key to maintaining our customer's confidence and trust. You must ensure customers receive their orders in excellent condition, on time and with excellent service. Every day you will be speaking with customers and helping to get our products into their stores. To many customers, you'll be the member of the Flanagan's team they see most often, critical to delivering our goal of a truly personal service. Our drivers go above and beyond to help meet customers' needs and are always providing the company with feedback on how we could be better. This role will include covering both North and South of Ireland. When covering the South of Ireland you will be required to stay overnight 2 -3 nights per week. (Above average overnight allowance)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    - Assist in loading and unloading good onto/off vehicles with excellent attention to detail and ultimate responsibility for the correct loads being unloaded.

    - Conduct delivery of flooring products to customers across Northern Ireland and Ireland and make receipt of these deliveries within company procedures (currently paper form)

    - Provide the business on feedback on our customers needs and how we can do things better for them

    - Bring back authorised returns, checking their condition before uplift, and being responsible for their condition when received back into depot.

    - Collecting carpet poles and pallets and returning them to site.

    - Carry out daily safety checks of the vehicle before each shift

    - Ensuring compliance with driving regulations

    - Must be punctual and stringent about timings and make no delays in deliveries

    - Ensure correct delivery/uplift according to dockets issued

    - Collect payments when delivering to accounts on a cash sale basis

    - Must be prepared to work in any traffic, weather and timing according to the business' needs

    - Must be safety conscious and report all safety issues immediately

    - Must report any vehicle issues in a timely and professional manner

    - Must be available by phone for our office staff at all times/ return missed calls in a timely manner

    - Must behave appropriately to other vehicles/drivers while on the road in our vehicles and uniform

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

    - Excellent customer service and communication skills

    - Naturally upbeat and positive personality

    - Excellent computer skills

    - Ability to think quickly when responding to customer's needs

    - Attention to detail and the ability to multitask

    - Multi drop - 1 Year

    - Manual Handling - 1 Year

    - Customer Service - 1 Year

    - Driving - 1 Year

    - Cash Handling - 1 year

    ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

    - CPC (Driver Certificate of professional Competence) - Required

    - HGV Class 2 26 tonne rigid - required

    - Digital Tacho graph Card - Required

    - Forklift licence - preferred

    - Good geographical knowledge of North and South of Ireland.

    OTHER ACTIVITIES

    - Adhere to the company health and safety policy

    - Work within the company's rules and regulations

    - Warehouse tasks when back at site or when not required to drive.
