The role will work very closely with our teams on the trading floor and is based in our central London Trading office.  What you will do Responsibilities: You will provide market expertise, fundamental analysis, statistical modelling and opportunity & risk identification, to support Gas trading, structuring, and origination activities. The key deliverables include: Leveraging detailed market understanding to recommend profitable trading, optimization, and business development strategiesResearching, analysing and interpreting fundamental drivers across the European Gas space, and translating these into market views and forward price outlooks to drive trading strategiesLeading the development & improvement of analytical tools: Development and/or enhancement of existing analytical tools to improve insights from market fundamentalsHelping to lead the development and improvement of analytical tools to support the origination and business development teams as they expand into new products and marketsParticipating in interactions with internal and external developers and evaluating external tools/software/products for business applicationRemaining knowledgeable about leading-edge developments, analytical techniques, technologies and tools in advanced analytics About you To be eligible for this role, you must have: Be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a numeric discipline e.g. Engineering, Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics (or hold other relevant industry experience)Have previous experience in European Gas Trading teamsBe experienced in developing Gas price forecasts within a trading/consultancy environment, to inform trading strategiesHave experience in Europe Gas fundamentals analysis & advanced analytical methods, including:Strong numerical, analytical and modelling skillsDemonstrable analytical/innovative thinking expertise, intellectual rigor, drive, and desire to lead changeExperience working with tools including Eikon, Bloomberg, other databases and analytical/visualisation toolsEstablished knowledge of data modelling and data pipeline development with tools such as DataIKU, and/or proficiency Python Be able to demonstrate:Strong communication & interpersonal skillsThe ability to collaborate effectively with internal & external customersA creative approach to problem solvingThe ability to work with multi-cultural global teams Your Benefits An ExxonMobil career is one designated to last. This role requires strong market analysis, negotiation skills, and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders to maximize profitability and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.Job Role ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute trading strategies for feedstocks / fuel oil, leveraging market fundamentals and ExxonMobil assets to unlock opportunities that capture value.Initiate, negotiate, and execute physical and/or derivative trades to express market views and/or hedge exposures.Continuously monitor market conditions, supply/demand dynamics, and competitive developments, and share them internally.Participate in an active global team where information sharing and close collaboration are highly valued to maximize outcomes.Evaluate and execute discretionary opportunities beyond core business (e.g., storage, blending, freight, arbitrage).Work closely with Operations team to manage physical inventory positions and optimize transportation and logistics decisions.Manage market and operational risk, ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations.Recommend and implement changes to short-term supply and sales plans to optimize asset value (i.e., product yield shifts, import/export adjustments).Collaborate with Risk, Credit, Legal, Accounting, and other teams throughout the trade lifecycle.Conduct all business with the highest ethical standards and in strict compliance with sanctions and other regulations.Required Qualifications:7-10 years of experience in physical/paper energy tradingPhysical and/or derivatives trading experience in petroleum productsExperience with European fuel oil and/or feedstock markets (HSFO / CBO / VLSFO / HSSR / LSSR / VGO) highly preferredSolid understanding of commodity markets, trade flows, supply/demand fundamentals, arbitrage economics, etc.Proven ability to develop and execute profitable physical / paper trading strategiesStrong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skillsExcellent negotiation and communication skills; ability to build collaborative relationships and work on a large global team spanning multiple time zonesDeep understanding of commodity risk management, hedging, VAR and exposure managementDeep knowledge of Jones Act and foreign flag freight, blending, and storage logistics. Alternate Location:   Nothing herein is intended to override the corporate separateness of local entities.
