Position Overview Lead Software Engineer – Python hybrid working option (2 days onsite per week). Security Clearance: SC minimum. Responsibilities Lead the end‑to‑end design and delivery of scalable software solutions using Python and Django. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Business Analysts, UCD specialists, developers) to define technical outcomes. Build and support secure, high‑performance, test‑driven code. Maintain and optimise live services to support stability and performance. Drive continuous system improvement and ensure smooth integration across complex platforms. Oversee multiple workstreams within an agile delivery environment. Essential Qualifications 8–10 years of professional experience, with strong Python and Django expertise. Proven ability in system design from concept to deployment. Experience working within secure, structured, or regulated environments. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach. Knowledge of Agile methodologies and multidisciplinary team working. Desirable Qualifications Experience aligned with GDS standards. Background in public sector or defence domains.
