    The role:We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified teacher to support our post-16 learners.  You will play a key role in delivering high-quality support to pupils, to include (but not limited to): Contributing to the Preparation for Adulthood 
    curriculum and ensuring all learning is aligned with learners’ Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Maintaining an individualised, tailored and pupil-led approach   Aid in supporting the transition from full time education to higher education/independent living to include support with resources, career skills, social and community interaction and skills for life Monitoring pupil progress, identify targets and ensure successful outcomes Committing to continued professional development and ensuring that curriculum and regulatory knowledge is kept up to date Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, ensuring regular interaction with your pupils and providing assessment and feedback as necessary Providing a consistent and constructive approach to barriers to learning, such as poor attendance and challenging behaviours Working closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies Sharing Esland's vision and values and implementing them in your day to day role Promoting safeguarding, pupil well-being and best practice at all times Whilst this job description gives a reasonable overview of the post, it is not exhaustive, and the post holder will be expected to behave in a flexible manner and take on any other duties that may be reasonably delegated from time to time.

    Essential requirements for a SEMH Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree Experience of teaching KS4 to KS5 across a range of subjects A strong understanding of SEN/SEND/SEMH and demonstrable prior experience of working in this sector Knowledge of assessment frameworks and progress tracking Excellent behaviour management and inclusive teaching strategies Knowledge and prior experience of support post-16 pupils approaching the end of full time education An ability to be resilient whilst also maintaining empathy and a supportive approach Strong communication and team work skills

    The Willows is a specialist property based on the outskirts of Lutterworth, providing an excellent setting for a therapeutic assessment home.  Using a trauma-informed approach, the team provides intervention care that supports emotional healing and personal development for up to two young people at a time.

    Over a 12 week placement, our assessment strategy helps us understand what is truly right for a young person and their needs

    Every placement provides PACE principles, therapeutic care, access to education and the opportunity to participate in an outdoor adventure programme.

    Our Teaching Assistants (TAs) play a vital role working alongside our class teachers to support our amazing students to fulfil their potential and to develop their skills of independence.

    Staff may work with individual students or small groups to assist them to access our broad balanced, fun, relevant and functional curriculum. Our students have a range of learning needs, and have all experienced trauma in their lives; these experiences mean that sometimes students present with some challenging behaviours.

    The position is based at our SEN School in Ditton Priors, near Bridgnorth.

    This is a new school and is the fourth Esland school. Esland schools currently support a number of vulnerable young people aged 8-18 years with SEMH.  


    A successful SEN Teaching Assistant will: Have an awareness of how to meet the needs of primary and secondary aged children who have experienced difficulty in accessing mainstream education. Have an awareness of additional SEND needs which impact on children's ability to self-regulate - communication and interaction; cognition and learning; sensory and physical needs. Be inclusive, empathetic, solution focused and passionate about making a difference for our learners Have an awareness of trauma informed practices and positive mental health promotion Have a clear understanding of, and ability to, manage behaviour that challenges Be a team player and a strong advocate for change, progression and continuous school improvement
    Required skills, knowledge and abilities for a SEN Teaching Assistant: Appropriate knowledge of first aid Ability to relate well to children and adults Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these To have some knowledge of National Curriculum requirements. Effective knowledge and use of ICT to support learning Understanding of relevant polices/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation Basic understanding of child development and learning Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities Working with or caring for children

    What we are looking for:

    Peak View is a two-bed, Ofsted registered children's home providing immediate intervention and trauma-informed
    therapeutic support.  Over a 12 week placement, our young people are given security, support, and stabilisation in a nurturing and peaceful environment.  Every placement provides PACE principle residential care, access to education and participation in outdoor/adventure activities.

    Essential requirements for a Senior Children's Adventure Care Worker: A minimum 12 months experience in a children's residential care home A level 3 (or above) diploma in residential childcare (or be close to completion) A full driving licence issued in the UK A keen interest in outdoor and adventure activities Applicants must have full right to work in the UK with no restrictions In depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations, expectations and best practice  Training and experience in de-escalation, safe restraint and physical intervention (such as Team Teach, MAPA etc.) Values in line with Esland's, such as taking a therapeutic, person-centred approach to childcare Due to industry regulations, applicants must be aged 21 or above Successful employment is subject to satisfactory Full Enhanced Disclosure, right to work and reference checks in line with government regulations and Safer Recruitment Practices (the company will cover the costs).
