    EQUANS are looking for a Lead Mechanical HVAC Engineer working on behalf of Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. General Overview:  To undertake a proactive role in carrying out maintenance, repairs and inspection of mechanical building services. All in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures and in compliance with legislation and guidance. Represent in a respectful and professional manner. Be responsible for all aspects of regulatory and HTM specific maintenance to heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical, HVAC specific assets and associated building services in accordance with the PPM programme and personal competence and training. Respond in a timely manner to ad-hoc breakdown requests as identified by supervisor / manager or as a minimum, as per site contract. Assist in Carrying out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works. Assist in Carrying out systematic fault finding in a logical and safe manner on malfunctioning equipment. Carry out duties in accordance with safe working practices within statutory and Company guidelines. Safely operate all types of access equipment, hand and power tools in accordance with health & safety and manufacturers guidelines. Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment and adherence to health & safety and infection control procedures. Maintain records as and when appropriate and as required, whether written or electronic. Willingness to assist and work flexibly with other trades/colleagues. After a qualifying period take part in the callout/standby rota. Ensure liaison with Wards and Departments as required, ensuring there is minimum disruption whilst carrying out work. Undertake training where necessary to learn other skills and to maintain and develop the requirements of the service. Carry out risk assessments on-site as instructed by supervisor / manager. Collaborate and co-operate with the partners and colleagues to deliver a customer focused service. Use initiative to make appropriate decisions, including when working out of hours. Diligently complete all required job cards and other work-related paperwork to the required standard. Complete work within the allotted timeframes. Carry out any other identified tasks commensurate with role. Additional Skills Technical advice and problem solving on water systems and heating issues. Other mechanical bias systems experience Impact:  The Maintenance engineer carries out planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across the healthcare estate. The position ensures that are able to meet their statutory and contractual obligations whilst simultaneously providing an excellent service to our customers. The operative makes up part of the facilities maintenance team which contributes to the effective and efficient operation of the estate and associated engineering systems that is conducive for the delivery of healthcare. Extending the lifecycle of unsupported vital equipment on the contract. Complexity:  The maintenance engineer undertakes duties for which their trained and competent to do. There is an Estates management team based on site that can offer specialised technical advice and who can liaise with the appropriate levels of management to facilitate specialist isolations necessary to undertake certain engineering works. Qualifications or Required Experience:  Completed a recognised Mechanical apprenticeship Previously worked within a complex maintenance environment.     Reporting to the Facility Manager, the successful candidate will form part of a small team and will deliver PPM / Reactive tasks and small project works. There is a requirement to work weekends, a working rota will be provided.  Job Specification:
    Carry out day to day maintenance and reactive tasks relating to all the building and fabric assets.
    Be a first call response for leaks and blockages.
    Carry out a range of general maintenance tasks to include but not limited to changing lamps, replacing ceiling tiles, plumbing & joinery tasks.
    Ensure all jobs assigned are completed with SLA / KPI rectification times.
    Utilise PDA to provide updates on work orders, ensuring sufficient information provided.
    Proactively carrying out a daily regime of find it fix it and report it to the helpdesk and ensure it is followed up and fixed within our service level agreement.
    Undertaking and recording statutory and planned maintenance duties to systems such as emergency lighting and fire alarm tests.
    Participate in emergency call outs.
    Sub-contractor management including inductions, review of RAMS and ensuring all permits and Safe Systems of Work are in place before work starts.
    Ability to manage a busy workload whilst maintaining high levels of service execution.
    Ensure risk assessments are completed and maintained for all tasks and all activities are undertaken within EQUANS Safe Systems of Work.
    Ensure all business specific SHEQ obligations are met, and procedures are adhered to
    Maintain a safe and tidy working area.
    Carry out installation works involved in minor upgrade and adaptation works.
