    On-Call Rota: 1 in 4  Job Description North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Maintenance Craftsperson Multi-skilled, with strong plumbing experience, to join our busy and supportive Estates & Facilities team. This is a vital hands-on role maintaining key systems that support the safe running of our hospital site. You'll work on a 4 on / 4 off rotating shift pattern, delivering a mix of planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Key Responsibilities Conduct repairs and maintenance of plumbing, mechanical and electrical plant/equipment. Respond to emergency breakdowns and support refurbishment and upgrade works. Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Ensure all work complies with relevant safety regulations and procedures. Participate in a 1-in-4/5 on-call rota  Supervise or support junior staff and apprentices when required. Carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and statutory checks. Requirements Essential: NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds / BTEC National Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. At least 3 years' experience post-apprenticeship or training scheme. Demonstrated experience in plumbing maintenance and installation. Strong fault-finding and repair skills. Comfortable working in varied environments (e.g. at height, confined spaces, etc.). Desirable: Experience in healthcare, commercial, or public-sector estates. Additional specialist qualifications. Familiarity with HVAC, fire safety, and water systems.
