Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Range Assistant to join our facilities team at a police training site in Gravesend. This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. The role: To carry out range duties; this can include, but is not limited to; ensuring all range equipment is maintained and ready for operation. Ensure all targets are prepared / manufactured and ready for use on all ranges, ensure ranges are clearly marked with flags when being prepared for use, carry out range control functions when firing ranges are in use, carry out daily range inspections ready for the start of the day. To carry out moving of equipment relating to the facility and its use. This can include but is not limited to: movement of turning targets, various other range equipment. To carry out general and minor repairs across the whole training facility. This can include, but is not limited to: painting and general decoration, minor wood work, repairs to various training items such as door frames/ window frames To carry out snow and ice clearance as required to hard surface areas to ensure pedestrian safety and the contained availability of the training facility.     We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Technical Manager to join our Sustainable Facilities Management team at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth. This pivotal role supports the Technical Manager in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of hospital HV and LV electrical systems, while maintaining the highest standards of engineering practice and compliance with statutory regulations. Key Responsibilities: Support the estates management team in delivering a 24-hour maintenance service across the Portsmouth University NHS Hospital SPV. Ensure adherence to safe working practices, statutory legislation, and quality management systems (ISO ). Act as Authorised Person for assigned systems following formal training and appointment. Manage day-to-day engineering operations, ensuring timely completion of planned and reactive maintenance. Provide technical expertise to resolve complex estate infrastructure issues. Monitor maintenance records and ensure accurate documentation within the CAFM system. Oversee and manage external contractors and sub-contractors, ensuring competency and compliance. Develop and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders across estates and site delivery teams. Contribute to the continuous development and delivery of the site life-cycle plan. Uphold health, safety, and confidentiality standards when working in patient and staff-occupied areas. Participate in an on-call roster with the ability to be onsite within one hour if required. Qualifications and Experience: ONC/HND in an engineering discipline or equivalent (Essential). Proven experience managing Hard FM services with a strong electrical background. Competent in contractor management and familiar with 18th Edition BS regulations. Experience as Authorised Person for both low voltage and high voltage (11kV) systems. Desirable Attributes: Knowledge of HTM, HBN, British Standards, and healthcare engineering systems. Previous experience working in acute hospital environments and on PFI contracts. Perform routine Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on electrical infrastructure and plant according to site schedules and CAFM systems. Address and resolve reactive maintenance tasks, proactively identifying areas for improvement. Swiftly remedy plant faults and defects to maintain equipment in operational order. Maintain adequate stock of spares to support maintenance and reactive works. Provide parts lists and estimated timescales for remedial work. Foster strong working relationships with Equans staff, subcontractors, and client representatives. Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, adhering to PPE and uniform requirements. Keep up-to-date plant logs and supervise subcontractor activities on-site. Ensure compliance with contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Utilise and update the CAFM system (e.g., PlanOn) with accurate data for PPM and reactive tickets. Operate the Permit to Work System in line with Equans' Technical and SHEQ processes. Provide engineering support during emergencies to ensure operational continuity. Obtain necessary Technical Appointments (e.g., LVCP/LVAP/HVAP) to issue permits to subcontractors and Equans staff. Work with the Contract Management team to look at future PPMS and identify if out of hours work is required, or if PPMs need to be pulled forward.  Work alongside BSC Helpdesk to ensure jobs are being raised with the correct information and on the correct standard order and priority. Work alongside the BSC Performance team to ensure jobs are being progressed through to completion. Monitor trends in engineer performance (daily, weekly, monthly) reporting negative trends to the Operational delivery team/Team Leader. Maximising utilisation of direct labour, reporting absences and identifying potential shortfalls and mitigation.  Involvement in weekly/monthly labour planning meetings with Delivery Supervisors/Managers/Team Leader as required.  Analyse jobs, both reactive and PPM to ensure quality standards are met across all contracts. Escalating customer complaint/escalations through the relevant processes.  Provide reporting/updates to operational teams or others as necessary to demonstrate the fulfilment of contract requirements. Manage internal email mailboxes timely.  Carry out general administrative duties in line with the departmental policies & procedures.
