It’sthe curiosity, dedication, and innovation that drive our success and help us anticipate the future. Senior Software Developer (C/Python Embedded)About the Position:You will join a team working on the firmware of our next-gen cryptographic Hardware Security Modules. Work ranges from SELinux system tuning to chip-set level drivers, Python scripts and C tools, tools to install, interact with, and control embedded boards, secure upgrade and secure boot.The SELinux applications involve many large interacting processes and containers. The HSM hardware is a secured, embedded board which provides a multi-core fast processor, FPGA accelerator, 8GB+ RAM, and large SSD.Responsibilities:Play a significant role in the team designing, prototyping, coding, and testing of our full system, from inception to delivery.Required Qualifications:Degree or equivalent, in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Maths or relevant discipline.Development & design in both C and Python on Linux, in an embedded environment.Experienced with complex, multi-component projects, using multiple development languages.Able to solve complex technical problems with demanding requirements, in innovative, practical ways.Bonus Qualifications:Secure-boot technologies and digital signatures.Device drivers & hardware protocols.Secure-Linux tools & API libraries.FPGAs and/or VHDL codingOpen-source software development - as licensee, or as contributor.A broad interest in cryptography and/or computer security techniques.Agile and/or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).#LI-NR1At Entrust, we don’t just offer jobs – we offer career journeys. Your work will primarily involve supporting the software engineering teams during new feature development as well as performing system-wide validation testing during final product release cycles. As part of a dynamic and highly capable software test engineering team, operating within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) you will find yourself involved in daily team standups, iteration reviews and Program Increment (PI) planning activities.Responsibilities:Participate in daily stand-up meetings, communicating task status, i.e., current progress, impediments, blockers, risks and any other assistance that may be requiredAlways communicate openly with team membersDevelop automated system test cases to support new feature verificationPlan and execute automated and manual release validation test activitiesCreate and maintain platforms and environments for release validation testing and system demosInvestigate test failures and create comprehensive bug reportsPerform test code and technical documentation reviewsWillingness to assist with urgent issues where necessaryQualifications:Previous experience in a similar role is essential, i.e., Software Development, Software Test EngineeringB.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or similarExperience:Expect to participate in open discussions, to challenge and be challenged with arguments based on reason, and to compromise occasionally in order to achieve team consensus. You will mentor a team of engineers to troubleshoot and optimize our networks for our users. This involves planning and developing solutions for crucial infrastructure initiatives to maintain a vision for the corporate network infrastructure. In addition, this role provides high-level technical guidance and support for the enterprise network structure, as well as mentorship and guidance for a team of engineers that troubleshoots and optimizes our networks.
