The Role
We’re looking for an experienced IT Operations Lead who understands the macOS platform as well as Windows to take ownership of our IT environment and help shape how it evolves as we grow.
This is a genuinely hands-on role. You’ll be leading from the front — solving problems, improving systems, mentoring others, and setting the standard for how IT should operate.
You’ll have the freedom to introduce better ways of working, drive automation, and build a robust, secure, and scalable IT function.
What You’ll Be DoingOwning day-to-day IT operations and ensuring reliability across systems and infrastructureActing as the escalation point across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line supportManaging and improving cloud platforms, SaaS tools, and network environmentsLeading troubleshooting and incident response for complex technical issuesOverseeing onboarding/offboarding, device management, and access controlsDriving automation and reducing manual processesImproving IT processes, documentation, and service qualityPartnering with the business to deliver practical, effective technology solutionsMentoring team members and raising the overall technical standardLeading IT projects and continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking ForAround 7 years’ experience in IT support and operations, ideally in financial services or another regulated, fast-paced environmentStrong experience across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support, including triaging, prioritisation, and team coordinationIn-depth knowledge of macOS AND Windows environments, including endpoint management and hardware troubleshootingKandji (Iru) knowledge or similar MDMProven experience managing cloud-based platforms such as Google Workspace and OktaStrong networking and security expertise (WLAN, VLANs, firewalls, ACLs, VPNs, switching)Experience with AWS (preferred) and/or Microsoft Azure, with exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools like TerraformExperience managing Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms across desktop and mobile devicesAbility to script and automate (e.g. Python, PowerShell) to improve efficiency and reliabilityExperience with ITSM/ticketing systems and best practices in service management and reportingStrong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver long-term solutions
Leadership & ApproachComfortable taking ownership and making decisions in a fast-moving environmentStrong communicator who can work across technical teams and the wider businessExperience mentoring and developing team membersSomeone who leads by example — hands-on, practical, and solutions-focused
