You role: Lead Platform Engineer    Position Description:     This role is part of our new enterprise platform engineering team focused on driving secure, reliable, efficient practice across our business and IT teams. This role will engage in the build, and iteration of our advanced cloud automation patterns, as well as developing solutions to automate manual process across business and IT. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to not only work with the latest toolsets but to contribute to the continued growth of a new highly skilled engineering organisation. The role is great for the engineer who is looking at improvements on the wide scale, affecting multiple engineering products.     To be successful in an engineering role in Elanco requires a highly motivated individual, who thrives working with stakeholders and regulated processes. Innovative mindset and a willingness to drive tangible outcomes would be beneficial.       Your Responsibilities:   * Collaborate with Principal Engineers and Product Managers to define the direction of platform and automation capabilities, shape team ways of working, and contribute to innovation and adoption. Communicate progress, results, and insights to stakeholders, and guide regulatory processes for engineering systems. * Engage in coding, building, governance, and maintenance of solutions; deliver high-quality outputs within a scrum team; design and implement automation to replace manual IT and business processes; and use CI/CD techniques to modernize software development. * Manage and support the product backlog, ensuring technical feasibility and readiness for engineering execution. What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):  * Proven experience in programming languages such as TypeScript, with a strong background in Python and/or TypeScript, and a track record of delivering software products. Experience defining and implementing large-scale, transformative digital solutions. * Experience working within a DevOps or agile team, familiar with modern software development practices including CI/CD, TDD, and the full SDLC. Operational experience ensuring internal products are well-maintained, supported, and continuously iterated on. * A passion for AI, with eagerness to stay current on AI research, trends, and technologies, combined with a strong willingness and agility to learn new tools and approaches. * Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to support adoption of new software versions or products.     In this role, you’ll oversee the delivery and management of our Hybrid Cloud estate and Identity and Access Management (IAM) services across the globe.

Your role: The Shift Leader ensures that all aspects of front-line operations are completed to schedule, and in compliance with EHS and Quality requirements.
    In addition, the Shift Leader will identify opportunities for, and implement actions to achieve, continuous improvement in their area of responsibility.

    This includes * Daily check of logs and BPRs to ensure no errors * Maintaining own Learning Plan and supporting operators to ensure zero overdue training • Ensuring PTW/SSOW processes are followed for the facility * Carrying out active monitoring to ensure EHS and Quality standards are being maintained * Delivering baseline EHS and Quality training for the area * Own and/or ensure operational input into document reviews (SOPs, risk assessments, etc) * Closure of all area maintenance work orders in a timely manner * Carrying out designated emergency response role as defined in the Site Emergency Response Plan * Plan and execute activities to enable the manufacturing process and downstream areas (QCL, QA) to run to schedule * Check BPRs/material management system to ensure no errors * Liaise with maintenance on a daily and weekly basis to plan and execute engineering activities * Arrange operator shift cover * Provide/ensure input into improvement projects * Raise work orders as required * Execute effective shutdown/changeover planning * Agree and communicate priorities on a shift-to-shift basis * Lead and ensure operator involvement in problem solving activities * Lead troubleshooting of plant issues, escalating to, and liaising with, functions as required. * Raise Electronic Deviation Management System events for significant EHS and Quality incidents, and carry out initial investigation/data gathering * Carry out frequent Gemba walks to understand shop floor activities, to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and to coach employees * Ensure effective communication between shifts, and with the Process Team and area leadership * Ensure operator shift logs are maintained to a high standard providing all necessary information for incoming shifts, supervision and the Process Team • As requested, escort visitors around the facility * Escalate any issues to the Process Team and area leadership * Deliver Team/Site comms to shift group as required * Manage, coach and develop members of the operations team. * Through the performance management process, ensure all members of the operations team have clear objectives, agreed development plan and that progress is tracked through regular 1:1s and formal check-ins. * Act as a coach to develop operators’ skills * Support PTs and operators in arranging training as required * Carry out role confirmation to ensure Process Technician and operators are effectively carrying out their roles and supporting to close gaps * Manage ProTime, OTS and absence management for the operations team.
