EKFB are recruiting for a Design Manager (Liability for Maintenance) to work within our Interface and Stakeholder Management team based in Milton Keynes.   In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting progress of the Liability for Maintenance scope and overseeing the work, quality and rate of production of Liability for Maintenance drawings by Design Partner. You will have responsibility for the strategy and development of the Liability for Maintenance project, including ownership of all relevant EKFB documents. You will contribute to development of Liability for Maintenance policies, procedures and guidance in the Business Management System. You will act as the main point of contact between H&C Team and Highways, Land & Acc Works and U&A functions and support with the development of the Highways boundaries drawings and associated consent.   Part of this role is to manage Third Party access requirements in the context of liability for maintenance including Internal Drainage Board, Network Rail, Highways, Landowners etc. and take an active role in trouble shooting/problem solving, leading to the development of strong consistent principles. You will collaborate with the Route Wide Commercial Team to notify any changes to the process envisaged. Including development of further scope and instructions.   You will be responsible for drafting and managing all upstream and downstream commercial communications and support adequate and effective audit processes. You will maintain a relationship with Parent Company functional specialists and foster collaborative working practices and ensures land-related Undertakings and Assurances are complied with including provision of evidence.   In addition, you will manage the integration of Liability to Maintenance with all relevant systems including but not limited to SmartConnect and GIS and engage with the Innovation team and HS2 to develop future innovations and system developments. You will also be responsible for Engagement with Accommodation works Design Coordinators and ALO teams regarding development of Liability for Maintenance. About You Key Skills and Qualification: Degree [or similar] level qualification in civil engineering or other relevant field. Ideally a Chartered professional. Extensive experience in project execution with a strong background in design, highways and commissioning activities on major projects. Experience in the management of QMS on major multi-disciplinary projects in the construction industry, with multiple stakeholders. Experience in AutoCad, Project wise and similar systems. Excellent people and communication skills. Ability to impact and influence stakeholders, build strong relations internally and externally. Ability to drive efficient delivery and business improvement, with strong commercial skills. Can work independently and is proactive. Assisting with temporary works design schemes, you will liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials to carry out works activities to the required standards, programme and budget.   You'll be responsible for managing the site setting-out team and be responsible for the performance and development of the Site Engineers and also for identifying and resolving technical problems on site in liaison with the Sub-Agent. Monitoring and coordinating subcontractors in the performance of their works, ensuring they are completed to the contractual requirements.   Ensuring that the team have all current information and resources required to carry out their duties, you will be required to assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans and contribute to financial forecasting. You will establish a collaborative working environment and encourages innovation within the IPT, to deliver best for project outcomes.   As part of the EKFB Technical Department Senior Management Team, liaise with other Technical Department leaders to ensure the delivery of designs and technical solutions with a consistent approach across the project and C23 programme, and in compliance with WI300, the Design Management Plan, Requirements Management Plan, Configuration Management plan and Lead Designer Strategy.   Additionally, you will provide direction and focus for key technical reviews (eg IDRs, Interface Mangement, Technical Deep Dives) and implement strategic technical Value Engineering Opportunities, proposed design changes, and Optimisation and Efficiency portfolio.  You will also review design delivery performance (to include cost, programme, contract, scope, progress, change, compliance, governance etc.) and supports the Technical Delivery Director with the commercial management of designers, liaising with the Commercial team as required.     About You Key Skills and Qualifications: Educated to degree or higher and hold relevant professional qualification. Sustained Continuing Professional Development. Experience in project-based design management across all project stages, including leading and overseeing design delivery for permanent works, temporary works, utilities, and engineering processes, including as well overall consents for the works. Experience of mega-projects / programmes in the rail, highways, water or energy sectors. Experience of managing the challenges associated with multi-disciplinary teams. Management of commercial aspects of design contracts with a focus on overall performance Understanding of digital engineering Working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations. This role is based around the Aylesbury area, and we ask that applicants hold a full driving license due to the remote location of the role. You key responsibilities will include -  Undertaking ecological surveys for legally protected species. Undertaking pre-commencement desk studies and site walkover checks. Delivering briefings and Toolbox Talks (TBTs) to site and engineering teams. Completing and reviewing ecological and arboricultural construction permits. Identifying and implementing ecological site mitigation including, writing precautionary working method statements (PWMSs). Completing ecological technical assessments. Coordinating Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoWs). Coordinating and managing ecology and landscaping subcontractors. Undertaking assurance checks of ecological and landscape mitigation sites. Undertaking ecological watching briefs. Completing targeted ecological site inspections. Liaising with the construction team to ensure works are undertaken in accordance with all legislation and internal processes / procedures. Investigating site incidents. About You - Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the application of ecological legislation for large scale infrastructure projects in the UK.
    - Be meticulous in checking detail whilst recognising delivery priorities, programme need and the anticipated volume of work.

This position will need to be able to liaise with the Agent, Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant, materials and temporary works to carry out the activities to the required standards, programme and budget. This role will also need to manage the site engineering team and be responsible for the performance and development of team. The Senior Agent will coordinate construction operations, ensuring they conform to the contract requirements and the required level of safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) is a key part of this role. In this role, you will plan and execute the assurance and compliance programme through audit, surveillance and targeted inspections, engaging subject matter experts where necessary. You will contribute to the creation of the risk based audit and assurance programme (internal and external). You will ensure that the standard and consistency of auditing and reporting is of a high quality Part of this role is to assess and evaluate non-conformities, including coordination of any corrective action, and ensure that close-out of findings is monitored and verified. You will develop and utilise relationships with client representatives and internal stakeholders and use relevant IT systems to manage all relevant audit reports, findings and other relevant records. You will work alongside other members of the audit, participating in multi-auditor audits where necessary. You will deliver training and awareness packages as part of a wider programme for Quality and non-quality professionals and lead continuous improvement of standards, practices and procedures in the Business Management System through stakeholder engagement. You will communicate the benefits and knowledge of the Business Management System. Lead Auditor (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 preferred) Professional Membership of a relevant institution, e.g. CQI, IOSH, IEMA. Competent Lead Auditor or Senior Quality Professional with proven experience in delivering internal and second party integrated programmes (preferably in the construction or other regulated sector). Knowledge and experience of auditing in a multi-disciplinary environment within an integrated management system (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001). Experience of using digital systems to support audit and assurance activities.     About The Role EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.   We’re seeking to recruit a Section Engineer to join our Portal Buildings team in the Greatworth to Southam Area.   The Section Engineer manages junior engineers and assists the Sub Agent in construction operations.   You will be required to report to the Sub Agent and supervise the site engineering team from construction to close out. Assisting with temporary works design schemes, you will liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials to carry out works activities to the required standards, programme and budget.   You'll be responsible for managing the site setting-out team and be responsible for the performance and development of the Site Engineers and also for identifying and resolving technical problems on site in liaison with the Sub-Agent. Monitoring and coordinating subcontractors in the performance of their works, ensuring they are completed to the contractual requirements.   Ensuring that the team have all current information and resources required to carry out their duties, you will be required to assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans and contribute to financial forecasting. About You Key Skills and Qualifications: HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent and working towards institute membership (ICE) Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
