    About The Role EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.   We're seeking to recruit a Freelance Land Surveyor at our Chipping Warden site in Northamptonshire on a short term basis initially.   Supporting the Senior Land Surveyor in establishing and maintaining the site survey control network in order to report and validate different construction stages. You will be responsible for undertaking land/topographic/hydrographic/measured building surveys, using a variety of specialist equipment and technology, such as robotics and 3D scanners. Analyzing data using plans, maps, charts and software such as AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center and GIS (geographic information systems) programs is an important part of this role. You’ll be required to prepare survey drawings with the Senior Land Surveyor, presenting data to clients and writing reports.   You’ll coordinate with the Site Engineers for the priority of the project regarding implementation, changes of plans or deviations, unusual activities or non-conformances rectification work and coordinate with the consultant for Inspection & Approval. Setting out and as-built surveys. Carrying out Topographical and Engineering Surveys (Laser Scanner). You’ll need to manage the registration and post processing of Point Cloud Data. GNSS network surveying, precise traversing and precise levelling for breakdown from primary survey control and also managing Drones surveys for earthwork measures.   About You Key Skills and Qualifications: HND/degree in Land Survey, or Geomatics, or equivalent. Experience within a similar role and with similar values. Experience in preparing survey-related Method Statements and Risk Assessments. Expert knowledge of Trimble total stations, levels and GNSS receivers. Excellent AutoCAD skills to produce 2D and 3D drawings. Good communication (both written and verbal) skills. Solid report writing and compilation skills. Proficient in using survey software like Trimble Business Center. All four of our partners (Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM) bring specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects.    We're looking for an Excavated Materials Manager to join our Routewide team based in Milton Keynes.   In this role, you will act as the principal earthworks, excavated and imported materials point of contact for the Contractor, reporting to the Project Manager. You will produce and implement the Excavated Materials Plan and all the Materials Management Plans. You will ensure compliance with all legislation concerning earthworks and with the contractual requirements, including Materials Tracking Documents, Materials Management Plans and Verification Reporting.    The Excavated Materials Manager will co-ordinate and oversee all excavations within made ground including watching briefs, stockpile segregation and re-use testing. This position will ensure that materials being utilised in the works is in accordance with the Works Information and the re-use criteria. The role will own and oversee a number of soils and excavated materials Undertakings and Assurances.    This role will co-ordinate with others regarding cumulative impacts of earthworks movement both within and outside the works. The role will also work with the environmental, traffic and waste managers to ensure all corresponding plans are coordinated and followed and ensure the compliance of the earthworks and imported materials to those plans.    This position will co-ordinate with the construction teams and customer liaison managers to provide corrective and preventative actions to any incidents or complaints that might arise as part of the earthworks and import of materials.      About You Key Skills and Qualifications: Essential: Experienced in Bulk Earthworks/Mining/Quarrying Understanding of mass haul and materials movements Understanding and working within CL:AIRE Definition of Waste Code of Practice Experience of Materials Management Plans, Remediation Strategies and Verification plans. We're looking for a site based Senior Environmental Advisor to join the construction team in our Greatworth to Southam (G2S) section. This role will require regular travel to site and other sites within the Delivery Area. You will be supporting the Section Environmental Manager and the Construction Team in ensuring all environmental, consents and sustainability matters, are implemented effectively. You will be a part of the EKFB Environment Team but will work as an integrated member of the Section Construction Team and will advise and provide guidance to the Engineering Team on relevant issues and concerns, helping to facilitate construction in a compliant manner. You will assist with monitoring, the production of and implementation of permits and consents, you will implement environmental construction compliance policy procedures; assist with regular reporting and attend site to ensure that controls are being implemented. It is critical that you build effective relationships with other EKFB team members and stakeholders. You will support the team, promoting good practice relating to environmental management, environmental consenting, sustainability, sharing best practice and learning. About You Key Skills and Qualifications: The successful candidate will be required to have a relevant qualification such as BSc (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Management or related subjects.  You will have experience as an environmental advisor on a Construction or Civil Engineering project. You will have a good understanding of UK legislation and practical control of water pollution, waste management, ecology, soils and air quality. Ideally, you will have a good understanding of chemistry as you may be involved in sampling and analysing lab samples. Experience of monitoring and management for issues such as air quality, noise and water would be beneficial. You will have good written and presentation skills. Assisting with the co-ordination of construction operations, ensuring they conform to the contract requirements and the required level of safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) is a key part of this role. You will also be reviewing and accepting RAMS (WPP) and ITPs on behalf of the CED.   This role will require overseeing the management and execution of temporary works, leading and managing a team of Temporary Works Co-ordinators. You will also be overseeing the proper co-ordination, integration and execution of the permanent works and temporary works designs and providing technical support and guidance to the construction delivery teams, including SCEW matters, NCRs, short notice design changes (TQs, FCRs), materials approvals, shop drawing reviews, temporary works design reviews, and testing (e.g. lab, materials management).   You will oversee the timely and accurate redlining of approved changes to the design by the construction delivery team and lead or support (as necessary) in relation to the above for technical assurance purposes (audit, surveillance, HS2 Technical Assurance Reviews). You will also be leading, directing and managing the Construction Support as described in the ASC (DJV) Stage Two Scope (section 3 Construction Support Services).   You will agree with ASC the strategy and subsequent implementation of a ‘risk based approach’ for reviewing temporary works designs and shop drawings and be monitoring performance of the ASC Construction Support team, including quarterly performance reviews and forecasting. Instructing changes in the scale and nature (location, grade and discipline blend) of the ASC Construction Support team. This includes holding budgetary control and cost forecasting. Assisting with temporary works design schemes, you will liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials to carry out works activities to the required standards, programme and budget.   You'll be responsible for managing the site setting-out team and be responsible for the performance and development of the Site Engineers and also for identifying and resolving technical problems on site in liaison with the Sub-Agent. All four of our partners (Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM) bring specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects.    We're looking for a Quality Assurance Manager: Incident Investigation & Trend analysis to join our Routewide team based in Milton Keynes. Key aspect of this role will be to improve route wide defect trend analysis, lead incident investigation, lead management interventions to reduce rework and improve performance, and gain better learning from events.   In this role, you will support the Project Quality team including Deputy project Quality Assurance Manager, Quality Assurance Engineering and Administrators (including recruitment, training and mentoring). You will promote understanding of the principles and importance of self assurance within the Construction Delivery Team. You will promote understanding of the principles and importance of self assurance within the Construction Delivery team.   Another key part of this role is to understand and challenge quality requirements and work with other functions regarding programme constraints and effective methods of delivery. Developing and utilising relationships with client representatives and internal stakeholders to influence the Quality Strategy. You will also use your ability to actively influence strategy where there are clear requirements from the business or the client.   This position requires to actively understand quality issues and be instrumental in finding solutions with the Construction Delivery team, the quality team and subject matter experts. You will implement the use of the IT systems to manage all relevant quality documentation and records and be responsible for the operation of the non-conformance and product defect system, including root cause analysis and cost analysis.   You will work collaboratively with the Construction Delivery Teams to plan for product realisation through inspection and Test plans, Work Package plans, etc. You will also promote continuous improvement of standards, practices and procedures in the Business Management System and communicate the benefits and knowledge of the Business Management System.   In addition, you will work collaboratively with relevant Parent Company colleagues to share and exchange learning, carry out strategic internal audits, third party audits and other quality surveillance activities as required. Preparation and collate KPI data for trend analysis  and monthly reporting for the client is also required. About You Key Skills and Qualifications: Extensive experience in managing Quality teams in a construction environment, with civil infrastructure experience preferred. Recognised Quality related qualification. Experience and knowledge of Incident Investigation. Membership of the CQI (or equivalent profession) and Internal Auditor (ISO 900s) both preferred. Excellent organisational and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities. Excellent communication and engagement skills. Driving licence and access to the vehicle is required for this role.

    About The Role EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.   We're looking to recruit a Site Engineer to join our Green Tunnels team based in Greatworth.    You should have some experience in the following -  steel reinforcement both on site inspections and with reading drawings/schedules concreting works, including pre-pour inspections, testing, pouring, call off and volume calculating setting out Pre-cast units using Trimble equipment, including tolerance checks and records formwork, including install, permit to load/strike The Site Engineer is responsible on site for other junior engineers and assists in the construction operations in the Banbury area.   You will be required to liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials to carry out M&E works activities to the required standards, programme and budget.   You will be responsible for work with the other team members of the setting out team and be responsible for the performance and development M&E Sub-Contractors and resolving technical problems on site in liaison with the senior team and Sub-Agent.
