Ensure that the work place, equipment, vehicles and machinery are maintained in a clean and tidy condition. Undertake a comprehensive training programme to be able to operate every aspect of the mobile plant in the department and attend any further training courses as required. Complete shift reports detailing production, to include any specific data required relevant to shift. Observe and comply with all safety precautions as detailed in the Health and Safety procedures and to ensure that safety equipment is in good order and used at all times. Ensure that the operation and related tasks are conducted in a safe working manner and that any incidents/ accidents and hazards are duly reported. Observe and comply with the Company Quality Systems as detailed in the Quality Manual Liaise with the shift supervisor and relevant engineering department as to the condition of the production equipment or problems. When required, provide support for holiday/ sickness/ training/ maintenance cover, to help maximise production output and efficiency. Our Requirements Basic Fire training. (Desirable) Loading shovel License (desireable) however training can be provided.  360 Timber forwarder grab license (desirable) however training can be provided Fork Lift Truck Licence. About the Role We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Mechanical Fitter to take ownership of plant maintenance, equipment reliability, and contractor coordination across our busy site. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll ensure all mechanical systems are operating at their best – safely, efficiently, and in line with manufacturer recommendations. What You’ll Do Carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance of plant and equipment. Act as first point of contact for on-site repairs and external service providers. Liaise with contractors, engineers, and cleaners – ensuring high standards of safety and quality. Support the planning and installation of new machinery. Recommend improvements to boost efficiency and reduce downtime. Uphold safety procedures, managing risk and reporting incidents as necessary.
