Business Development Manager Location: City of London (Hybrid / Office-based) Salary: £45,000–£55,000 + Commission Contract: Full-time Reporting to: Head of Business Development About the Company We are a fast-growing, client-focused legal services firm based in the City of London, specialising in residential conveyancing, wills & probate, and wider property-related services. Since early 2024, we’ve expanded our footprint and market presence significantly, and now need a dedicated Business Development Manager to support our next phase of growth.
Role Overview We are seeking a proactive, commercially driven Business Development Manager with property industry experience — ideally an ex-estate agent — who can generate new business opportunities and build strong referral networks. This role is highly active and outward-facing: you will identify and secure new instructions through strategic relationship-building with key referral partners.
Key Responsibilities Drive new business acquisition to support growth objectives across conveyancing and private client services. Build and manage strong referral relationships with estate agents, developers, mortgage brokers, financial advisers, and other partners. Represent the firm at meetings, office visits, networking events, and industry gatherings. Promote the firm’s service offerings with professionalism, confidence, and commercial focus. Record and report business development activity and pipeline progress regularly. Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure excellent client experience and follow-through on instructions.
Person Specification Essential Proven ability to generate new business and build referral networks. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. Confident, proactive, and target-driven with a “go-getter” mentality. Highly organised with strong professional presence. Desirable Previous estate agent experience. Understanding of conveyancing processes (preferred but not essential).
