If you're looking for a proper vehicle technician role where the work matters and standards aren't negotiable, read on.
Dunmow is the largest independent waste management business in Essex, proudly Essex-born and still growing. Across the county, dozens of trucks keep busy waste sites moving every day. When a vehicle is off the road, you are the difference between progress and standstill.
The role
You'll be based at our Brightlingsea workshop, with a primary focus on planned maintenance across the fleet, including 6-weekly PMIs and MOT preparation. High-quality inspections and first-time MOT success are the standard we work to.
Outside of planned maintenance, you'll support the workshop team with defect rectification, diagnostics and mechanical repairs as required.
The fleet includes vans, skip trucks, artics and trailers, along with associated tyres and sheeting systems. Welding capability is a bonus, not a requirement.
What we're looking for
Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to diagnose faults properly
At least 5 years' hands-on experience as an HGV technician
IRTEC qualification preferred, or demonstrable inspection competence
Confident working on HGVs, trailers and sheeting systems
MIG/TIG welding experience would be an advantage
Calm, methodical approach under pressure
Own tools
What you get
£50,000 salary
Company van
Monday to Friday, 10-hour shifts (47.5 hours per week)
Overtime available evenings and weekends
20 days holiday plus bank holidays
Pension
A busy, well-run operation where good work is noticed and valued
If you like being hands-on, fixing things properly, and want to be part of a growing Essex business that takes its fleet seriously, get in touch.
