This role demands a high level of professionalism, adaptability, and a commitment to maintaining a professional appearance at all times.Your key responsibilities will include:Executing multi-drop collections and deliveries within the designated local area with precision and efficiencyAdhering strictly to time-critical deadlines and predetermined collection schedulesMaintaining accurate records of all journeys and deliveriesRepresenting DPD with the utmost professionalism and integrity at all timesConducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safetyPromptly reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnelSafely loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper securing of goods during transitAdhering to all relevant road traffic laws and company policies, including working time directives and tachograph regulationsMaintaining a clean and organised vehicle interior and exteriorParticipating in regular safety briefings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and regulationsCollaborating effectively with warehouse staff, dispatchers, and other drivers to ensure smooth operationsProviding constructive feedback to improve delivery processes and customer experienceDemonstrate the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring and AccountabilityQualificationsTo be considered for this role you must have:A valid 18 Tonne (Category C) licence, DQC (Driver Qualification Card) CPC accreditation and a valid UK Digital Tachograph CardGood communication skills, a can-do attitude and customer-focused approachThe ability to prioritise and work on your own initiative when under pressurePrior multi-drop driving experience would be beneficial, but full training is availableA clean driving licence and some basic administration skills would be preferredExcellent time management skills and punctualityStrong geographical knowledge of the local delivery areaPhysical fitness to handle heavy loads and perform repetitive lifting tasksBasic mechanical knowledge to perform vehicle checks and identify potential issuesProficiency in using handheld devices and route planning softwareAbility to work flexible hours to meet business needs when requiredAdditional InformationAbout our benefits:We recognise that our people are at the heart of our business, without them we wouldn’t be able to deliver our award-winning service to millions of customers across the country each day.
