This position has primary responsibility to execute maintenance tasks in a safe, efficient and effective way according to the job plan and procedure. This position works in a Union environment and the pay starts at $40.83 hourly.Responsibilities:Install, repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, manuals, and plans machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, conveyors, production machines, and piping. Review the job package and check if work can be carried out safely and according to the job package.Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, handtools, and power tools.Repairs or replaces defective parts, using handtools and power toolsRepair and lubricate machines and equipmentLays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related equipment for steam, hot water, and industrial production and processing systems.Cuts and threads piping for installs and repairsAssist in the analysis to ensure the problem is correctedApply the skills of respective trade/craft/discipline in executing maintenance workLeverage trade skills to apprentice and other maintenance associates.Assist in the development of Maintenance Work ProceduresFeedback information on job package quality and Root Cause Analysis data as requiredDocument/record historyAssist in maintenance planningFollows job plan to complete workFollows standard work procedures where availableIdentify requirements to complete emergency workAssist field planner in planning jobs in his/her discipline as requestedUse established Maintenance proceduresProvide input towards the development of Maintenance proceduresAccess procedures on electronic document management system (EDMS)Required Qualifications: A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED3+ years of relevant experience in an industrial maintenance spaceWilling to work over time, and take off-hours call insMust be 18 years old or olderMust be willing to work weekends, and holidays, as business need dictatesProficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quicklyMust have a current, valid US driver’s licenseA minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. It may include routine upkeep as well as corrective repair work.Mechanical Principles: Mechanical reasoning can be broadly defined as the ability to perceive and understand relationships between components within a mechanism.Condition Monitoring:  Condition monitoring is the process of monitoring a parameter of condition in machinery, in order to identify a significant change which is indicative of a developing fault. It is a major component of predictive maintenance. The use of condition monitoring allows maintenance to be scheduled, or other actions to be taken to prevent consequential damages and avoid its consequences. Condition monitoring has a unique benefit in that conditions that would shorten normal lifespan can be addressed before they develop into a major failure. Condition monitoring techniques are normally used on rotating equipment, auxiliary systems and other machinery, while periodic inspection using non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques and fit for service (FFS) evaluation are used for static plant equipment such as steam boilers, piping and heat exchangers.Preventive Maintenance: Preventive maintenance (PM) is maintenance that is proactively performed on an asset with the goal of lessening the likelihood of failure, reducing unexpected downtime, and prolonging its useful life.Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM): Reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) is a concept of maintenance planning to ensure that systems continue to do what their user require in their present operating context. Successful implementation of RCM will lead to increase in cost effectiveness, reliability, machine uptime, and a greater understanding of the level of risk that the organization is managing.Communication: Professional communication, encompasses written, oral, visual and digital communication within a workplace context.English Language: The ability to communicate through listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English.Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing work: Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work is the process of organizing work, setting priorities, determining resource requirements, and implementing strategic plans on a daily basis while recognizing the interdependencies of activities and resources.Additional notes:Dow does not offer relocation if the position is offered to someone who lives outside the area or reimbursement for travel to and from interviews. Utility Operators utilize knowledge and experience to safely operate the utility equipment, troubleshoot issues, and make further improvements in plant performance. Persons filling this job are expected to become qualified to operate the utility equipment. In addition, the Utility Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient repair, preventive and predictive maintenance of all types of equipment, including HVAC & refrigeration equipment, air compressors, etc.Responsibilities:Own the operation and troubleshoot as necessary, the utility systems across Bristol Croydon site.Work within the maintenance work process to repair and maintain process equipment, specifically including refrigeration systems (HVAC, ARUs, MRUs, Chillers) according to industry and EPA guidelines.Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions safely and efficiently and helps document failure analysis.Supports Safe Work Permit activity across utility systems.Ensures refrigerant recoveries following environmental protection agency (EPA) guidelines.Collects equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.Provides Work Activity Coordinator with all required information from each job performed, including feedback on what was found and done, and hours put in.Provides Field Planner with all required information to assemble an effective plan on complex jobs.Coordinate troubleshooting based on priority in plant.
