    We are seeking to appoint an experienced health and safety professional to work as an integral member of a busy, supportive and established team. The role will nominally be based in Exeter however flexible working and some working from home is encouraged. The role will require travel throughout Devon to a broad range of teams and establishments.

    Amongst your specific areas of focus will be auditing as well as the review and implementation of a wide range of health and safety policies and guidance. You will have allocated areas of H&S specialism and be responsible for the interpretation of legislation and guidance to provide appropriate advice to Services and establishments. You will also be required to develop and deliver in-house and externally accredited training, both face to face and remotely, to a wide audience.

    As a minimum you should hold the NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and be CMIOSH or actively working towards this, with good post-qualification experience. A sound knowledge of current H&S legislation is essential, and you will be required to carry out significant accident investigations. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to engage with individuals and groups across all levels of the organisation, including meeting with Directors and their management teams. Significant experience with premise H&S issues, including the management of asbestos and legionella, across multi-site organisations, including educational establishments, would be an advantage, as would a good understanding of Office 365.

    Brixington Primary Academy is looking to appoint a full time SENDCo. The SENDCo role will be pivotal in leading SEND strategy across the school with the aim to improve provision and outcomes for all SEND learners within the school setting. We are looking for someone who has high levels of self-organisation, enjoys communicating with a wide range of stakeholders and believes in teamwork and collaboration. You will, in turn, work with supportive staff team, be part of the leadership team, and benefit from opportunities to work with other schools and other school leaders across the trust. The successful applicant will be a passionate leader who is dedicated to making a difference and improving life chances for SEND pupils in every classroom and across the curriculum. We are looking for an individual who is able to work with subject leaders, school leaders, families and wider agencies in a proactive and innovative way to ensure that every pupil has the best learning experience and is best prepared for life after Brixington. The ideal candidate will: Have an exceptional understanding of teaching and learning Demonstrate great leadership Have a strong knowledge of the primary phase curriculum Will be a qualified SENDCO or have relevant experience and be willing to undertake the NPQ SEND Be motivated to make a difference to the life chances on young people with additional needs.Have an excellent understanding of the SEND code of practice Be committed to the view that children with SEND needs should aspire to flourish and attain high outcomes. Be open to new approaches to learning and teaching Be able to think outside the boxBe an excellent team player and believe in strong collaboration Be someone who has high levels of self-organisation, a good communicator and Be committed to working with teachers and adults through mentoring and coaching commitment to working with a wide range of stakeholders
