Job overview We are looking for a self-motivated Lead Pharmacy Technician to work closely with our existing Lead Pharmacy Technicians in the Operational Team. (Dispensary, Distribution, Procurement and Stores) . Due to the current post holder securing a Medicine Management Technician role within the department. The post holders working days and hours will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 9am - individual must be a good communicator, accurate, enthusiastic, flexible, have excellent leadership skills and able to use their own initiative whilst leading and working as part of a busy team to meet strict transport deadlines. We are seeking an ideal candidate who has drive for quality improvement within the dispensary service whilst maintaining and adhering to governance standards at all times. The pharmacy department promotes a culture of continuing education and development. Applicants will be expected to aspire to further enhancing their knowledge and skills whilst receiving in-house training. Main duties of the job Lead dispensary team on allocated sessions, following procedures, to ensure compliance with relevant standards in particular the safe and secure supply of medicines. Participate in dispensing clinical trials medicines and ensuring governance procedures are in place and adhered too. Supervise new starters undertaking all dispensary tasks supporting and ensuring competency of existing team members against national frameworks and adhering to in house standards.  Provide rota and workload support. EMIS Hospital Pharmacy system support. Assist in the review and development of dispensary procedures and training plans.  Support the training and assessment of team members to assure competency. Prescriptions are dispensed and checked as per standard operating procedures.  Carry out one to one supervision of support staff in line with Trust policies. Participate in supporting and deputising for the Clozapine and Procurement lead when needed. Liaise with the department EMIS system managers or IT helpdesk to ensure appropriate problem solving related to dispensary services and optimum efficiency. Effectively communicate with internal and external customers, including patients, carers, trust staff and those of Trusts with whom we have a contract, to ensure accurate information and appropriate customer service. Act as a dispensary role model, foster a patient centred culture and always project a professional attitude and appearance within and outside the department. Job overview Pending College Approval  The service has gone through expansion over the past 5 years, incorporating FREED early intervention, establishing treatment pathways with broadening of BMI criteria. Our comprehensive MDT includes Clinical Psychologists, Specialist Nurses, CBT therapists, Specialist Dieticians, Occupational Therapist/s, Peer Support Workers, Admin Team including full-time Medical Secretary and shared with WTE Consultant Psychiatrist. The team are also currently training an ACP Practitioner. We have close working relationships with the North and South Derbyshire CAMHS Eating Disorders Services, links with Gastroenterology at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Derby Royal Hospital (incorporating joint Gastro-ED clinics) and colleagues from local specialist inpatient units and the regional collaborative provider network. We also have close links with a local third sector charity, First Steps.  We have a supportive ED-Cons peer group within this network as well as strong working relationships with ED colleagues nationally.
